Job Description

Are you looking for a job where you can utilise your project management experience to support the development of renewable energy projects? And are you keen to support the progress of projects across markets? Then we might be your new team.

European Energy is a green energy company in exponential growth. Our core business is to develop and deliver projects within solar PV, batteries, and wind farms globally. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team

We are looking for a new colleague to be part of our Asset Project Management Office (APMO) in the Project Development department which handles the development of our renewable energy projects globally.

The APMO team currently consists of five colleagues who together have a solid experience in project management and portfolio analyses of renewable energy projects. The purpose of the team is to define and maintain best practices for project development across the portfolio, both through portfolio level analysis and support, and project specific involvement during late development. The team has a strong mandate to support that purpose, including ownership of EE's Project Management Model, governance of EEs investment committee setup, and business ownership of the project level database (PLC).

How you will create an impact

As our new colleague, you will play a key role in ensuring excellence in execution of projects across their life cycle, with a particular emphasis on the late development and structuring phase leading up to Final Investment Decision (FID).

You will particularly provide enhanced support to projects during the structuring phase, ensuring that project managers are executing asset projects effectively, at the right quality, cost and time, and ensure timely involvement of internal stakeholders.

You will assess project materials and maturity levels before Investment Committee (IC) / Steering Committee (StC) meetings, ensuring the required quality in accordance with the Project Management Model.

Furthermore, you will take part in managing IC and StC meetings for projects, where the APMO acts as facilitator and timekeeper. You will be documenting discussions had and decisions made and ensure that appropriate action is taken by the project teams in accordance with decisions made.

Moreover, you will progress and improve development processes and governance to enhance project execution efficiency and contribute the team's active ownership of the Project Management Model.

To fulfill your role, you will be curious and thorough in your interaction with the projects, and through that you will both act as the projects' ambassador towards the rest of the organization as well as the gate keeper to ensure that the project lives up to the requirements for gate passings. You will have the ability to interact with multiple projects at the same time and a good sense of which aspects are crucial for the project to move forward.

You will collaborate closely with Project and Country Managers globally to manage project portfolios, and you will also have many other internal interfaces and stakeholders in the organisation. You will have exposure to the management team and take part in Investment Committee and Steering Committee meetings, as relevant.

Competencies

  • You have at least 3 years of relevant experience with project management and/or project assessment in the renewables industry
  • You have most likely worked in a project development team, and understand both the critical components of renewable projects during the development phase, and the timelines involved
  • You are able to navigate between commercial and technical workstreams and have a basic understanding of business cases and can navigate financial models
  • You have extensive experience with PowerPoint and Excel
  • You are experienced in stakeholder management and enjoy navigating a complex internal stakeholder landscape and facilitating collaboration across an organisation
  • You are fully proficient in English, oral and written
  • You hold a commercially focused master's degree within Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or Law

As a person, you are structured and analytical, and you enjoy working in an environment with frequent deadlines.

With us you get

  • Being part of a centrally placed and dynamic team, you will have wide opportunities to propose and pursue new initiatives that can contribute to the performance of the APMO team in particular, and the wider organization as a whole.
  • You will have the possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time, new ideas and proactivity are valued.
  • You will get deep knowledge and insights into the renewable industry for several markets.
  • We have an entrepreneurial approach to our work. In daily life, it means there's not far from thought to action, and you will have trusted responsibilities no matter your seniority.
  • We prioritize our employees' development. You will be enrolled in our People Development Program to ensure continuous learning and engagement.
  • We offer the opportunity to work remotely and have flexible working hours.
  • You will have ample opportunity to engage socially across the departments. We have a monthly Friday event, a free gym in the basement, a squash court, as well as sports events such as running club, football club, and mountain bike.
