Job Description
The UK Tax Manager will focus on primarily managing corporate tax and international tax matters for the Nadara Group's UK operations, supporting in ensuring the fulfilment of VAT requirement in UK.
The UK Tax Manager ensures compliance with corporate tax regulations, supports cross-border tax initiatives, and provides expertise on evolving international tax frameworks.
The position involves collaboration with senior management, external advisors, and other departments to meet compliance requirements and minimize tax risks.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Manage the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns or oversee the fulfilment for those entities whose tax compliance is outsourced to external tax compliance.
- Ensure accurate and timely corporate tax filings in compliance with UK regulations.
- Review and validate corporate tax calculations and reports to ensure adherence to legislation.
- Ensure accurate and timely corporate tax payments.
- Coordinate with external advisors and auditors to support corporate tax compliance processes.
- Provide support in the preparation of year-end group reporting, including the effective tax rate (ETR) reconciliation and producing data required for the consolidated financial statements.
- Support the business under tax perspective
International Tax Compliance & Support
- Monitor changes in international tax legislation, including OECD guidelines and UK implementation of global tax rules, advising on their impact.
- Support the implementation and compliance of Pillar 2 rules within the organization.
- Assist in preparing and filing the Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR).
- Manage and monitor compliance with withholding tax (WHT) obligations in the UK, including documentation and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Head of Direct Tax to meet global compliance requirements and align UK and international tax processes.
Transfer Pricing
- Manage and maintain transfer pricing documentation to ensure compliance with UK and international regulations.
- Support the development of transfer pricing policies for cross-border intercompany transactions.
- Collaborate with international teams to ensure consistent application of transfer pricing principles across jurisdictions.
Tax Audits & Disputes
- Assist in corporate tax audits, investigations, and dispute resolution with HMRC, serving as the main point of contact for HMRC.
- Prepare and provide necessary documentation for audits and inquiries.
Risk Management
- Collaborate with the Head of Direct Tax to identify and assess tax risks related to corporate and international tax operations to minimize potential exposure.
- Oversee internal controls for tax processes.
- Manage the compliance requirements related to the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) regime, ensuring timely filings and adherence to obligations.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors to proactively manage tax risks.
VAT (Desirable)
- Provide oversight on VAT compliance processes as a secondary responsibility.
- Offer advice on VAT matters when required, leveraging external support as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Extensive experience in UK corporate tax and international tax matters, including transfer pricing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK tax legislation and OECD guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax matters to non-specialists.
- Demonstrated experience in managing corporate tax audits and interactions with tax authorities.
Desirable
- Knowledge of VAT compliance and related matters.
- Previous experience at a Big Four accounting firm or within an in-house tax team.
- Familiarity with the energy or renewable sector.
