Join our team as a Market Outreach Specialist supporting our Midstream Lighting Program in Kentucky. You'll build and grow relationships with lighting distributors and trade allies, drive enrollment and program participation, and help expand market share for energy efficient lighting across the region.
What you'll be doing
- Serving as the primary outreach contact for our Midstream Lighting Program (the majority of your time), building relationships with lighting distributors and trade allies across central Kentucky.
- Recruiting new distributors and trade allies to enroll in the program, growing our current base toward a much larger network of active participants.
- Supporting enrolled trade allies with training and ongoing engagement to drive consistent program participation.
- Educating trade allies on program benefits and processes to encourage adoption and address questions.
- Traveling regularly within Kentucky (primarily day trips) to conduct in-person outreach and visits.
- Researching the market to identify and prioritize new distributor and trade ally targets.
- Serving as a liaison between customers, contractors, and program staff to resolve issues and improve satisfaction.
- Planning and coordinating events, trainings, and presentations to promote program offerings.
- Tracking outreach activity and progress toward program goals through regular reporting.
- Collaborating with other energy efficiency programs to advance shared leads.
What you bring
- 3-5 years of experience in utility, energy efficiency, lighting, and sales/relationship-building roles.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities at once.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and encourage adoption without a hard-sales approach.
- Comfort spending the majority of your time (roughly 70-80%) in the field rather than at a desk.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Kentucky, mostly day trips with minimal overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving background and own reliable transportation (a company vehicle may be provided at a later date)
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.
- Adaptability and resourcefulness when priorities change.
- Based in or near Louisville or central Kentucky.
