At Calisen, we're delivering technology and business change that supports our mission of creating smarter energy solutions. We're looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join our Digital team leading a portfolio of IT projects and business change initiatives that drive real value across the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a project professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders, and delivering successful outcomes through strong leadership, organisation and communication.

The Role

As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for setting up, managing and implementing projects and small changes, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards. You'll work across multiple workstreams, coordinating resources from IT, the wider business and third-party suppliers, while applying Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate.

You'll play a key role in overcoming challenges, managing risks, engaging stakeholders and ensuring teams remain aligned to project objectives and delivery plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and small change initiatives from requirements definition through to deployment and handover.
  • Manage and deliver the end-to-end migration of Calisen's on-premises Oracle Database and Oracle Forms application to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, coordinating technical teams, stakeholders and third-party suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define project scope, budgets, resources, timescales and implementation plans.
  • Deliver projects to agreed time, cost and quality objectives using Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid methodologies.
  • Manage and coordinate project resources, balancing competing priorities across teams and suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across IT and the wider business to drive engagement and successful delivery.
  • Negotiate technical and commercial matters with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and control project progress against agreed plans and governance frameworks.
  • Produce and communicate project plans, status reports, business cases, steering committee packs and other project documentation.
  • Promote project management best practice and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the Change function.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing IT projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to operational readiness and handover.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing project resources.
  • Strong track record of delivering projects to scope, budget and timescale.
  • Experience managing project reporting, governance, risks and stakeholder communications.
  • Ability to overcome resistance to change and influence colleagues across both IT and the wider business.
  • Practical experience working within Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement both within projects and across wider business processes.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies and governance.
  • Technical awareness of software development and infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to balance time, cost and quality when delivering business solutions.
  • Strong documentation skills, including business cases, options papers, cost-benefit analysis and project reporting.
  • Proven risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, IT or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma or Project Management qualifications are advantageous.

Personal Attributes

  • A confident and adaptable communicator who can tailor their approach to different audiences.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable managing and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative, supportive and motivated by delivering successful outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accountability.

Why Join Calisen?

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of technology and business change initiatives that support Calisen's strategic objectives. You'll join a collaborative Digital team, work with stakeholders across the organisation and play a key role in delivering projects that make a meaningful impact on the business.

If you're an experienced IT Project Manager who thrives on delivering successful change and building strong stakeholder relationships, we'd love to hear from you.
