Bei Voltfang bauen wir intelligente Batteriespeicher, die aus Elektroauto-Batterien bestehen – und dabei helfen, das Stromnetz zu entlasten und Energie sinnvoller zu nutzen. Damit diese Systeme zuverlässig, effizient und wirtschaftlich arbeiten, braucht es leistungsfähige Softwarelösungen. Genau hier kommst du ins Spiel.

Als erfahrene:r Softwareentwickler:in arbeitest du an der Weiterentwicklung unseres Open-Source-Energiemanagementsystems und gestaltest gemeinsam mit deinem Team die Software-Infrastruktur für moderne Energiesysteme. Du entwickelst Algorithmen, Schnittstellen und Automatisierungen, die echten Impact haben – für das Netz, für unsere Kund:innen und für die Energiewende.

• Weiterentwicklung und Pflege des Open-Source-Softwaresystems OpenEMS
• Implementierung von Regelungsalgorithmen für energiewirtschaftliche Anwendungen wie dynamische Strompreise, Intraday-Trading und Virtual Powerplants
• Entwicklung von Steuerungsalgorithmen auf Basis von künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) und maschinellem Lernen (ML) – sowie deren Integration in bestehende Softwarearchitekturen zur intelligenten Steuerung von Energiespeichersystemen
• Anbindung externer Energiesystemkomponenten (z. B. PV-Anlagen, Wallboxen, Wärmepumpen) über moderne Schnittstellen
• Aufbau automatisierter Prozesse für Konfiguration und OTA-Updates
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Projektplanung und Pilotkunden zur Umsetzung skalierbarer Systemlösungen

Dein Profil

• Abgeschlossenes Studium oder Ausbildung im Bereich Informatik, Computer Science oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung
• Fundierte Fachkenntnisse in Java oder einer vergleichbaren objektorientierten Programmiersprache sowie einschlägige praktische Erfahrung in der Entwicklung von verteilten Softwaresystemen – idealerweise im Open-Source-Umfeld
• Erfahrungen mit Continuous Integration und Deployment Pipelines
• Sorgfältige, selbstständige und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise sowie Freude daran, kreative Ideen einzubringen und technische Herausforderungen anzugehen
• Fließende Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse für eine reibungslose Kommunikation im Team

Your mission

Your responsibilities include:

• Further development of the open source software system OpenEMS (https://github.com/OpenEMS/openems)
• Implementation of control algorithms for different industrial energy use cases such as dynamic electricity prices, intraday trading and virtual power plants
• Realization of AI/ML-supported control algorithms and their integration into existing software architecture
• Implementation of interfaces to components of the energy system such as PV systems, EV charging stations and heat pumps
• Automation of the configuration of energy management systems and OTA updates
• Close collaboration with project managers and pilot customers to develop standardized solutions

Your profile

• Completed training or studies in the field of informatics/computer science or related careers
• Sound specialist knowledge of Java or a comparable object oriented programming language as well as relevant practical experience in the development of software systems (ideally open source software such as https://github.com/OpenEMS/openems)
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Independent and motivating way of working
• Enthusiasm, diligence and the ability to introduce and implement creative ideas
• Fluency in German or English for smooth communication within the team
