As an NPI Engineer at Smappee, you will serve as a key player in coordinating the seamless transition of our innovative products from concept to market reality. In this crucial role, you'll oversee all aspects of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to optimize design for manufacturing and maintenance, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. By maximizing efficiency and scalability, you'll not only ensure the success of our current projects but also lay the foundation for future innovation in the dynamic field of energy management, EV charging and what lies ahead.

Responsibilities

You will lead the industrialization of new products from prototype to series production, including deployment at external manufacturing locations. This will involve project management and ensuring milestones are met using checklists. During development, your focus will be on designing for assembly, repair, test/validation, etc. You will be responsible for the creation of manufacturing documentation and management of changes, as well as coordination of Process Engineering. During NPI projects, you will cooperate closely with an in-house Production team, and make the technical link with external Manufacturing Partners the context of preparation of prototypes, pre-production, and series production. You will collaborate with R&D, Purchasing, Quality, and Suppliers/Subcontractors to ensure a stable manufacturing process for assembly and functional testing. You will actively seek optimization opportunities and drive the implementation of continuous improvement both at our facilities and at supplier/subcontractor locations. You will strive to maximize production output and improve first pass yield by optimizing functional test setups and simplifying processes. You will develop a network within Smappee, as well as with suppliers and other manufacturing companies, to adopt and implement industry best practices effectively.

Requirements

You hold a master’s degree in industrial engineering or have equivalent experience. You possess a strong passion for mechatronics, electrical engineering, and electronics. You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. You are both knowledgeable about energy and technology. Taking ownership, quality orientation, and problem-solving are characteristic traits of yours. You are familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and enthusiastic about implementing them. Basic software/programming experience, such as Python, would be considered an advantage. You maintain a proactive working attitude and possess good communication skills. You have a strong passion for renewable energy and consider yourself environmentally conscious. You are proficient in both English and Dutch. Knowledge of an additional language is considered a plus.
