As a buyer (f/m/d) you efficiently executing operational purchasing processes. Your purchase goods, materials, and services to ensure that the operational needs are met (considering price, quality, on-time delivery) as well as continuity of supply. Processes incoming customer requests (workflow transactions, purchase requisitions, email requests, etc.) ensuring agreed cycle time and quality standards while maintaining high customer/user satisfaction.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Processes purchase requests by creating and releasing purchase orders to suppliers
  • Negotiates prices and payment terms with classic negotiations or advanced negotiation concepts (E-Bidding, E-Auction etc.)
  • Purchase order management, including tracking/expediting to ensure a cost-efficient supply of materials in accordance with demand
  • Actively seeks process optimization and improvement opportunities in relevant areas (e.g. MoQ optimization, bundling of purchase orders, etc.)
  • Demonstrates strong customer focus by handling requests in a timely manner with high quality standards and communicates efficiently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensures items are delivered on time and expedited where necessary and communicates with suppliers concerning order-related items, such as delivery dates, and escalates risks to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitors supplier delivery and quality performance
  • Escalates findings to relevant stakeholders and addresses performance issues with suppliers as necessary

What You Bring

  • University degree or apprenticeship degree in a commercial or technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of professional work experience in procurement, applicants with less experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication skills and capability to cooperate with different cultures in a global business
  • Willingness to learn procurement skillset, e.g. contract management, negotiation methods, etc.
  • Ability to break down issues into workable components and skilled in presenting facts after preparation and ability to describe simple processes related to daily work,
  • Advanced English and excellent German language skills
  • Open for digital work processes and strong IT skills (MS Office, SAP)
