sonnen is seeking an experienced Elixir Developer with expertise in scaling applications to join our software engineering leadership team in Cairo, Egypt. This role focuses on advancing IoT solutions, particularly in controlling adaptable loads such as home storage batteries and EV chargers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Elixir, Erlang, Scala or Haskell and a keen interest in team building.

You will be a part of our dynamic IoT division, working alongside skilled team leads, software engineers, architects, and requirements engineers. Our team is responsible for sonnen's global IoT cloud platform, which operates a vast network of batteries, EV chargers, and heat pumps worldwide.

We prioritize robust coding practices and teamwork to develop innovative solutions for renewable electricity management and energy market integration.

What is your area of responsibility?

• Leadership & Team Development: Take charge and cultivate a sustainable, impact-driven work environment within your team.
• IoT Platform Design: Craft inventive solutions for the continuous advancement of our IoT platform, responsible for Energy Management, telemetry data processing, Device Lifecycle Management, and bidirectional IoT communication.
• Engineering: Lead the development and operation of the Elixir services in your responsibility, collaborating closely with your team, IoT peers, and other stakeholders.
• Decisions & Knowledge Sharing: Foster collaboration by actively engaging in aligned decisions and knowledge exchange with fellow developers and stakeholders.
• Remote Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a remote team setup.

What will be required for that?

• Proven Leadership Expertise: Demonstrated leadership experience in diverse roles, whether functional, collaborative, or disciplinary, showcasing your ability to excel in various team dynamics.
• Extensive Elixir/Erlang Proficiency: Possess over 5 years of hands-on experience in Elixir and Erlang and the operation of scaled, distributed systems. Place a high value on code excellence, capable of leading the creation of well-tested, easily maintainable code.
• High-Load Systems Maintenance: A track record of successfully maintaining high-load systems, with a preference for experience in managing IoT devices.
• Background in Energy Management or Electrical Engineering Advantageous: Any prior involvement in the development of Energy Management or Electrical Engineering will be considered an asset.
• Inspirational and Conceptually Strong: Exhibit the capacity to inspire and motivate others, combined with a keen conceptual understanding, enabling you to tackle complex challenges.
