GGGI has partnered with ICE to promote the development of district cooling solutions in San Jose. The ICE supplies electricity to 99% of the population in Costa Rica and is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power. GGGI is seeking a Senior Associate to support the implementation of the district cooling project in San Jose.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the district cooling project in San Jose
  • Conduct research and analysis on district cooling technologies, policies, and best practices
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, reports, and presentations
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including government agencies, utilities, and private sector partners
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to project stakeholders
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress and outcomes
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and dissemination activities

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in engineering, energy, environmental science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in energy, climate change, or sustainable development
  • Strong knowledge of district cooling technologies and systems
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies
  • Experience in project management and implementation
  • Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
