Manage and ensure the execution & delivery of the Quality Sourcing Process. Responsible for all sourcing activities including the development of cross-functionally agreed sourcing strategies identifying strategic and preferred supply partners that will deliver regional quality, cost, delivery, and technology performance levels. Apply a high degree of innovation and creativity managing all commercial elements of the business including exceeding annual cost performance targets, proactively identifying and mitigating/eliminating risk to the business to maximize profit, meet customer expectations and grow the business. Candidate must have strong analytical skills, an international mind-set and act as a team player within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a panel of suppliers including searching & qualifying new suppliers and assessing the performances of the current suppliers & seeing they develop to the required levels.
  • Implementing purchasing strategies and deployment.
  • Managing the operational purchase processes including negotiating in quality, the required performances, and deadlines, at the best total cost of materials, parts, equipment and services. Choosing by drawing up a comparative offers table facilitating a purchase decision, drawing up the contract that protects organization’s interests.
  • Negotiating and signing framework contracts or partnerships for certain products or services, in the context of the purchasing strategy/policy.
  • Supporting sales processes by providing unit prices or means of calculating budgetary prices for materials, components, or services in your charge.
  • Negotiating prices and assessing the remaining negotiating margin to validate and secure material, component, and critical service prices.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the purchasing processes through the sharing of good practices.
  • Applying ethical and sustainable development principles.
  • Anticipating the risks and opportunities at all phases of the purchasing process and for influencing the defining of the need and of the specifications by providing information on market.
  • Identify Strategic and preferred supply partners.
  • Drive total acquisition cost sourcing methodology.
  • Responsible for Procurement of Raw materials, Product Stores/Indirect materials, Inbound logistics & Subcontracting.
  • Should have adequate experience in dealing with various activities viz., Profile rolling, DE coiling, shearing, slitting, Gas cutting, shot blasting etc.,
  • Should have good networking and dealing with various suppliers of Paints, Welding electrodes, Fasteners, Packing materials, Castings, Forgings, Plastic and Rubber parts.
  • Need adequate knowledge on indirect material procurement (Oils, Fuels, Gases, Bearing, Seals, PPEs, Maintenance spares etc.,)
  • Should be better equipped with knowledge on SAP (MM), quality requirements, GST and import procedures.
  • Experience on import sourcing is must for different category of materials.
  • Should have ability to Plan against Forecast and contingency and maintain inventory levels as set by the management.
  • Should be responsible for various Vendor development initiatives and timely implementation of NPD requirements and material grade developments within targets.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university. Post-graduation will be an added advantage.
  • 10 -15 years’ Engineering/Manufacturing industry in Purchasing.

Background, Skills and Competencies

  • Should have managed Sheet Metal Fabrication, Forgings and Machined parts. Should possess a good knowledge of Surface Treatment processes.
  • Strong Negotiator Conversant with hands on experience in “Should Costing” / Costing from first principle.
  • Hands On working exposure in APQP / PPAP, Lean & Six Sigma processes.
  • Must have worked under international collaborative atmosphere with different cultures and countries.
  • Equipped with project management skills.
  • Strong Knowledge of export / import Processes.
  • High collaborative and agile in solving the issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across different roles and hierarchies.
  • Proactive thinker and a self-starter.
  • Strong analytical and execution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationship with affiliates, suppliers, shippers and customers.
  • Comfortable working under time pressure and dealing with time sensitive issues and problems.

Joint Venture between John Cockerill and Greenko

  • John Cockerill and GZC will combine their strengths to collaborate in all spheres of market evolution for green hydrogen electrolysers, which converts clean energy into carbon free hydrogen.
  • The pressurized alkaline technology provided by John Cockerill and being the best adapted to the "large scale" hydrogen applications along with Greenko’s lowest cost RE-RTC (round the clock) solutions will enable the lowest Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) necessary for the implementation of a large H2 ecosystem on the Indian subcontinent.
  • The Gigafactory will include the full manufacturing electrolysers value chain including state of the art nickel coating and will produce electrolysers delivering H2 at 30 bars at the outlet at the highest purity level.
  • Greenko, which is based in Hyderabad, is already building capacity to cater to the rapidly evolving green hydrogen market globally.
  • Leveraging India’s ample and diversified base of renewables generation alongside its own long-duration storage projects to provide round the clock renewable energy, Greenko aims to deliver internationally cost-competitive green hydrogen and associated green molecules.
  • John Cockerill is, among other technologies, developing the world’s highest capacity electrolysers (6.5 MW commercial with envisioned engineering to go up to 20 GW) and manufacturing facilities across the globe.
