Seaway7 is looking for a Planning Engineer on a full time, staff basis, located in either our Aberdeen or Leer office.

The Planning Engineer will support the delivery of projects globally, providing transport & installation planning on a variety of offshore wind projects. Our projects range from laying cables to the installation of foundations and wind turbines using our modern fleet of vessels. In addition, our projects are multi-disciplinary consisting of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing whereby planning is one of the primary tools used to control our projects. A historical vessels database is maintained by the planning department and together, with the technical know-how of the project team, your major responsibility as the **Planning Engineer, is establishing the projects and offshore installation schedules of Seaway's installation vessels and offshore work teams.

As well as being part of one of the project or tender teams, you are also part of the Planning Team within the Contracts and Project Control department. Our Planning Team consists of 12 Planners and a Planning Manager, who have been working for Seaway7 between 1 and 15 years. The atmosphere within the various teams is informal and friendly and colleagues are always ready to support each other.

We have multiple vacancies for this position and therefore, would also like to consider more experienced applicants who would be interested in the step up to Senior Planning Engineer. As a Senior, you will also be tasked with supporting the education and training of any new team members, graduates or apprentices that may be assigned to you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide planning support as required by other departments (project, tendering and operations).
  • Represent Seaway7 in planning matters with clients.
  • Set up and maintain master schedules and offshore schedules.
  • Provide target planning to support performance measurement.
  • Setting up progress monitoring and forecasting systems to suit clients’ requirements.
  • Prepare as built, hind castings and norms.
  • Coordinate data for planning purposes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and help to professionalise the Planning Department.
  • Training of other Planners within the Department.
  • Liaising with colleagues in the other business units

What You Will Bring to the Team

  • A MSc. or BSc. Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Marine Engineering
  • Previous experience within a planning function within the energy industry, especially refineries and other complex mechanical construction projects
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
  • Experienced Primavera P6 user
  • Team player with an accurate, adaptable, solution-finding and proactive mindset
  • Comprehensive communication skills in English, both spoken and written
