The Opportunity

The Linux and DevOps team are well established within the IT Infrastructure Department and is responsible for the organisation’s extensive Linux, Oracle, PostGres and Microsoft SQL Server solutions. A particular focus of this team is to ensure the reliability of the various platforms whilst driving performance and functional improvements and new delivery mechanisms including virtualisation and cloud services.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join this team to develop and employ Eirgrid’s automated deployments which underpin the organisation’s corporate functions and mission-critical power system operation and market functions.

Your role will focus on supporting major programs of work to validate and test pipelines to deploy cloud based systems.

The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of Eirgrid by working as part of a team of IT professionals, undertaking senior database administration duties and driving project delivery and solution optimisation.

About You

Successful candidates will have:

• An IT degree or recognised qualification in a relevant technical discipline supported by 5+ years’ experience in delivering and/or operating database solutions
• Strong Experience in building and maintaining deployment pipelines using Terraform, Jenkins, Groovy Scripting
• Strong experience of working in with Agile frameworks – Scrum and Kanban
• Experience with Logging and Monitoring tools – Splunk, Dynatrace - for performance analysis or Root Cause Analysis
• Experience in Configuration Management Tools – Chef/Ansible/Puppet
