Business Analyst (Financial Modelling & BD)

Scope of Work

• Perform market research and analysis focusing on new energy sectors (i.e., green hydrogen and its derivatives), understand competitive landscape and kept abreast of movements within the industry
• Role will involve modelling i) Hydrogen / Ammonia projects ii) RE generation projects iii) integrating the two to develop holistic value chain economics iv) economic evaluation of potential purchase / sales contracts v) economic evaluation of potential assets / business purchases.
• Interacting with various business and functional leads to obtain input assumptions and their sign-offs
• Clearly articulating / explaining to Senior Business Leaders model logics, inputs and outputs, sensitivities, cause-effect relationship and engagement on 'what-ifs' discussions.
• Presenting model outputs in charts and powerpoint presentations
• Responsible for preparation of economic value sections in investment memos and management update materials.
• Play a support role in business strategy development, including M&A and portfolio strategy, business case building, financial analysis, and management presentation
• May be required to participate in teams in deal origination activities
• Play an active role in deal evaluation, structuring and execution (Can be project investment or Corporate M&A)
• Responsible for preparation of investment memos and management update materials
• Responsible for due diligence workstreams, including coordination of internal and external stakeholders & advisors, preparation of transaction documents

Requirements

• 4 - 5 years of experience in a similar role, project management or consulting.
• Proven experience in building financial / economic models for evaluation of large energy projects for the purposes of investment decisions
• Experienced in early greenfield development, particularly around Renewable Energy, Hydrogen and its derivatives, or industrial gases or LNG/natural gas business is a strong plus
• Comfortable with exposure to and engaging with senior team members and senior management
• Excellent organizational and project management experience
• Strategic and critical thinking: capacity to quickly grasp the big picture to tackle a task
• Effective in working in a startup environment and working across a matrixed organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Deep hands-on working experience with developing presentations and reports using MS Powerpoint and MS Word applications.
• Ability to use professional databases such as Bloomberg and/or Capital IQ to support qualitative and quantitative analysis
• Keen knowledge of green hydrogen value chain is preferred
