Job Description

European Energy (EE) is a green company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team

You will join our EPC department, which is divided into six dedicated teams who each contribute to ensuring that projects are designed, sourced, constructed, and grid connected within the planned timelines, quality standards, and budget. You will become part of the Grid Integration team where you will work together with eight other colleagues based in Denmark and Lithuania.

You will be based in our office in Milan, which was started up in September 2020, with in total 15 colleagues working in Project Development, EPC, Legal, and Finance. You will join the local EPC team in Italy, working closely with two colleagues within Project Execution and Electrical Engineering.

Your new role

As our new Grid Integration Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring correct and timely connection of our wind and solar parks in Italy. You will be involved from early stage of the development process in terms of the design and feasibility of the parks, and have the responsibility for the entire commissioning process of a park. You will have a broad interface internally to project managers, project developers, etc. and externally to TSOs, DSOs, and consultants.

Key responsibilities include

  • You have technical dialogue and negotiations with DSOs / TSOs regarding the grid connection, and ultimately the grid connection agreement.
  • You establish the technical and contractual foundation for grid connection agreements of wind and solar farms, in collaboration with the DSOs or TSO.
  • You ensure continuous overview of the national technical requirements needed (according to the EU network code (RfG) to obtain the needed permits / operational notifications (EON, ION and FON permits) for wind and solar farms)
  • You manage our local consultants, to ensure sufficient quality and progress.
  • You ensure that the required SCADA, communication and signaling setup is established between the plant and the DSO / TSO.
  • You are involved in drafting and tendering the main substation design, and scoping and tendering of electrical sub-contractors for the construction phase.
  • You provide estimates of Grid Connection CAPEX, related to each project.
  • You work closely with other EPC teams to ensure alignment of the general design of our PV plants across countries.

To thrive in this position, we imagine

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and have a solid toolbox within the Electrical Engineering area.
  • You have 3-5 years of relevant professional experience within distribution and transmission systems regarding grid compliance requirements for grid connection, grid analysis, planning and design.
  • You have experience working with the DSOs / TSOs in Italy and other external advisors.
  • You have experience with the entire commissioning process of preferably renewable energy projects.
  • You have knowledge of grid studies and feasibility and costs analysis for grid connection.
  • You are fluent in Italian and are proficient in English.

With us you get

  • You will join our local EPC team, a small but highly motivated team, and be part of the growth and development of EE operations in Italy.
  • You will be part of a rapidly growing international company at the core of the green transition.
  • The possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time, new ideas and proactivity are valued.
  • We make an effort to welcome you as our new colleague. We prepare individual onboarding plans for everyone, and you will be assigned a buddy prior to your first day.
