Do you have a passion for driving transformative, positive change in New Mexico? This job might be for you.

About PowerMarket

PowerMarket is a leader in the community solar industry and we help communities benefit from clean, renewable energy. Our work contributes directly to a sustainable future. A great team of dedicated professionals, we take pride in creating a supportive and collaborative work environment.

Role Overview

Join us as a Community Solar Outreach Coordinator in New Mexico, where your voice and passion are key to driving transformative, positive change within the community. Community Solar allows hundreds of individual households to benefit from a single, large-scale solar array, and it's especially beneficial in sunny regions like New Mexico. Energy flows from the solar array to the grid, and this translates into savings on electric bills. Your role is to help members of the community benefit. Rising utility bills are a burden for many households, particularly in low-income areas. At the same time, there's increasing awareness and concern over the environmental impact of traditional energy sources. In this position, you will enroll customers into community solar and develop strategic partnerships with mission-aligned organizations. This job is not only a source of income but also as a way to make a significant difference in tackling these pressing issues.

Responsibilities

  • Voice of the Community: We are looking for high-caliber individuals to represent the aspirations, concerns, and feedback of the New Mexico community. Your insights are invaluable in shaping our community-centric solutions.
  • Relationship Building: Develop relationships with local partners, non-profits, tribes, industry associations and collaborate on community solar marketing and brand awareness.
  • Educate and Engage: Effectively communicate the benefits of community solar, emphasizing both the tangible (savings, environmental benefits) and the intangible (a sense of purpose, community pride).
  • Fill projects: Proactively connect with utility customers and enroll qualified individuals, businesses, and municipalities into community solar through an online enrollment form.
  • Organize and Participate: Lead community events, workshops, and discussions to create awareness, foster trust, and build strong community ties.
  • Provide Feedback: Regularly communicate with the PowerMarket team, ensuring that we remain in sync with the community's needs, desires, and concerns.

Qualifications

  • Passion for community development and sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistent achievement of enrollment targets.
  • Initiative and a proactive approach.
  • Skilled in building rapport and trust within diverse communities.
  • Strategic insight to boost sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Milestones

  • First Month: Complete onboarding, familiarization with PowerMarket's systems, and begin community outreach.
  • By Third Month: Establish at least five solid partnerships with local organizations and enroll 50 new customers.
  • Six-Month Mark: Host or participate in at least ten community events and enroll at least 200 customers total. End of Year: Achieve a milestone of enrolling 500+ customers, reflecting a substantial contribution to community solar projects.

Salary

This is a one-year contractual role with a competitive base salary of $2,500 per month and the chance for performance bonuses tied to the solar capacity secured.
