Business Controller Trading

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Professional with a passion for energy commodity trading. The incumbent is responsible for the controlling activity such as monthly closing, budget and ad-hoc analysis for Alpiq’s trading business. She/he works closely with the Finance Business Partner and the group controllers and a series of other stakeholders across the business. The role is to be based at our offices in Olten or Lausanne.

Your main responsibilities

• Checking and commenting the monthly reporting of the Trading activity;
• Building the bridge between the Trading PL and the accounting Gross Margin for the Trading activity;
• Commenting upon requests from Group Controlling the NWC movements for Trading activity;
• Contributing to and supporting the creation of the Year-End-Estimate;
• Preparing the budget on the costs side with the business and on the GM side with the Finance Business Partner Trading;
• Various ad-hoc analysis, supporting Finance Business Partner, Group controlling and Business management in solution finding in context of Finance topics.

Your profile

• University Degree or equivalent in Business Administration with a focus on Finance/Controlling;
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in an energy commodity trading environment;
• Good command of MS Office as well as reporting system (SAP);
• IFRS knowledge a plus;
• High attention to detail and analytical skills;
• Independent, proactive working style;
• Winning personality with good communication skills, fluent English required, any other languages a plus.
