The essence of our work is to understand the current and future energy landscape, evolving societal and customer needs and the broader operating environment in both qualitative and quantitative terms.

Your contribution will shape our long-term outlook of the Nordic and European energy system, including the key fundamental drivers, long-term scenarios and price view. You will have the opportunity to focus on selected domain(s) of the energy system, for example renewable energy, nuclear power and hydrogen.

The daily work contains

  • Following and analysing current phenomena and trends;
  • Developing Fortum’s long-term view on key domains of the energy system and the broader operating environment;
  • Contributing to fundamental market model simulations;
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

All of this is an integral part of our strategy work, scenario analysis and forecasting. The Customer and Market Intelligence team is highly visible and influential within Fortum, which means there is a high standard and trust in the quality of our analysis and recommendations. Team work is our guarantee to maintain that trust!

The location of this role can be in either Espoo, Finland or Solna, Sweden.

About you

You are proactive and have passion to make sense of the changing energy landscape and the society around us. You rather find out than assume, and you have the courage to craft views in a complex and uncertain field. You have a technical background with a keen interest in society, or a societal background with technical interests.

We expect you to have

  • Around 3-5 years of relevant working experience with the energy industry, consulting, research or another relevant field, ideally combining qualitative and quantitative analysis;
  • Strong communication skills to present complex content simply and effectively;
  • Familiarity with quantitative analysis and forecasting – experience with fundamental energy market models, statistical analysis and programming will be considered a benefit;
  • Fluency in spoken and written English – fluency in Finnish, Swedish and other Scandinavian languages will be considered a major benefit;
  • Master’s level degree in Economics, Science and Engineering, Social Sciences or equivalent.

We are looking for an insightful colleague who enjoys discussion and working as a part of a team. You are reliable, take ownership of your projects, and coordinate well with internal and external stakeholders.
