Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst Intern to join our team based in Newcastle working on renewable energy transmission projects/products. The position will report directly to the Finance Manager within the Finance Team. This is a 12-month full time role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

You will gain experience both in financial and management accounting and be business facing, playing a meaningful role in making our business future ready by supporting our Finance function.

You will:

  • Support Finance Manager with month-end closing activities including forecasting, journal posting, financial analysis, invoicing and debt collection.
  • Collaborate across functions to understand the business for forecasting and reporting.
  • Focus on continuous process automation to maximise Finance deliverables to internal stakeholders.
  • Help improve the efficiency of our company through process optimization, digitalisation, intelligent data analysis / visualization and use of process automation.
  • Support annual cost centre planning process
  • Perform monthly internal controls for area of responsibility.

What You Bring

  • Studying towards or have completed a degree in a business/finance or data analytical related subject area.
  • Experience of working in a finance department would be advantageous but not essential.
  • If you already gained insights into digitalisation, or data visualization (Tableau) and automation it would be considered an advantage.
  • Enjoy working independently, safely and responsibly/
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be comfortable communicating with people at different levels.
  • Must be flexible to quickly pivot and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.

About the Team

The team is made up of professionals driving the results that we deliver to our Headquarters and ultimately our shareholders. They are the ‘key holder’ of the financial data, ensuring it’s accuracy through from initial data entry all the way through to published accounts. Alongside this they are responsible for both internal and external audit.
