Context

Within GEMS, the Risk Expertise Center’s purpose is to, on one hand, advise and help the Business Platforms in optimizing their activities making sure it respects all the rules and limits, and on the other hand, to manage, monitor and control the risks that GEMS is fading globally in its commercial and energy management activities.

Role

The local Market Risk officer is the local representative of the EC Market Risk within the BE Sales entities.

His missions are:

  • Preparing the Local Monthly Dashboard meetings where specific Risk indicators are reviewed;
  • Managing Risk mandate breaches :
    • Notification at the appropriate management level;
    • Review with FO Downstream portfolio managers the strategy to come back into the limit;
  • Validating the deal representations in the deal capture systems;
  • Advise, discuss and review risk management strategies with the management of the B2B BP and Downstream, and in particular, steer the end of year Risk Mandate review process;

Hard skills

  • Good understanding of the energy and derivatives markets;
  • You have strong analytical and digital skills (python);

Soft skills

  • You have strong inter-personal skills to interact with portfolio managers, traders and other team members;

Education and professional background

  • University degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Sciences, IT or similar);
  • 1-3 years minimum working experience in the energy or finance sector;

Languages

  • You can write and speak English fluently;
