Varied tasks

  • Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement plans to support EnBW’s offshore wind projects in the UK.
  • Work with colleagues from our UK offshore wind Joint Venture (JV) partner, bp, to ensure coordination of activity.
  • Undertake political monitoring in Westminster and devolved nations.
  • Support and deliver engagement with political stakeholders to help project EnBW’s messaging and build understanding of our work among political audiences in the UK.
  • Attend events and meetings, representing EnBW to external audiences. This will include events organised by third parties, as well as some initiated by EnBW or the JV as part of our stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Draft internal briefing papers and reports to summarise information for colleagues on political and stakeholder issues.
  • Liaise closely with EnBW communications colleagues to ensure we maximise positive messaging relating to stakeholder and political engagement.
  • Record, report and undertake ongoing evaluation of activities and impact.

Convincing profile

  • A bachelor’s degree or the equivalent at 2:1 or First Class. Not necessarily subject specific, but Politics, Economics, Sustainability or energy policy related courses or course content could be advantageous.
  • A Masters degree, or demonstration of equivalent through work-based experience or training.
  • Experience of around 2-3 years in a similar stakeholder and government relations role, or equivalent experience to evidence capability.
  • A candidate who can excel in an intercultural and cross-functional environment.
  • Experience of working in a complex organisational environment, with experience of working in a joint-venture / collaborative partnership an advantage.
  • Experienced in managing stakeholder data management systems such as Client / Stakeholder Relationship Management systems (CRM / SRM).
  • Initiative and the ability to work effectively in a team are your strengths.
  • Engaging and effective presentation abilities.
  • The ability to speak Business English fluently.
  • You are very effective in stakeholder management and relationship building, due to your excellent communication and interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Your ability and willingness to travel are crucial requirements for being a member of the team that operates across different locations including London, Edinburgh, and Hamburg, while your base location will be London / Edinburgh.
  • Experience of working in roles which required a detailed working understanding of political and policy matters.
  • Confidence and proficiency with processing complex information and reporting it, verbally or in written form, to senior colleagues in clear and simple terms.

Optional

  • You are passionate about renewable energy and Net-Zero.
  • You demonstrate a structured and independent way of working.
  • Keen interest in large-scale wind offshore projects and willingness to learn (existing knowledge and/or experience is an advantage but not essential).
  • You are a very confident user of MS Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, O365, Visio) and SharePoint.
  • You have experience of working with media and / or political monitoring tools.
  • You have working experience and understanding of working with contact databases such as Client Relationship Management (CRM) tools, and are familiar with GDPR obligations.
  • You truly enjoy taking on a wide range of project tasks and creativity that comes with it.
  • Willingness to familiarise oneself with new tasks at short notice.

About the department

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative individual who can lead, support and monitor the execution of work tasks to ensure the safe and timely delivery of our project in line with budget and quality standards.
