You will be part of our Project Control & Risk Management Team located in Taipei, Taiwan, reporting to the Head of Construction Offshore, APAC. Your primary operational stakeholders will be working on execution of offshore wind power plants across the Asia Pacific region with most of your stakeholders working out of the Taipei office. Other relevant stakeholders are the Finance and Procurement teams.

In addition to project execution, our project execution teams also support the rest of Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of offshore construction projects and consequently, many of our tasks also require cross-organisational collaboration.

Responsibilities

You will be the primary financial expert and problem solver on the offshore wind power projects for the region working closely together with the project managers and the project management team members. Together you will both forecast and cost control the offshore wind power projects in the Asia Pacific region from handover from Sales throughout the execution period until handover to Service. You will assist in the development and analysis of relevant information for project operations to make informed decisions. This can include trend analysis and forecasting, ensuring we are proactive. You would further conduct value adding activities, investigate discrepancies in actuals and assist in assisting to drive and deliver efficiencies.

Your tasks will include:

  • Generation of standard monthly project reports (actuals to date and new estimate vs original budget and last estimate);
  • Monitoring and forecasting of project cash flows - ensuring inflows are managed;
  • General ledger postings, general accruals and prepayments relating to the projects;
  • Maintenance and tracking of the projects, both cost and revenue inclusive of contract variation orders;
  • Reconciliation of monthly settlements and ensuring work orders are settled correctly;
  • Provision of monthly reconciliations of projects, both monthly, year-to-date and project-to- date;
  • Keeping yourself up-to-date with system processes and ensuring they are adopted in offshore;
  • Maintenance of key milestone dates like cash in milestones in the ERP system and ToR;
  • Preparation of "cost out" reports for approval by the project team when major suppliers and contractors complete their scope of work. (Cost out = ensure that supplier invoices and credit notes reconcile to contract and POs);
  • Processing of related reconciliation and documentation concerning project financials/-balances;
  • Monitoring of CRs incl. of support to CR case handlers and reporting of CR status;
  • Monitoring and updating of project hedging (currency exposure) when appropriate, liaising with Vestas Treasury;
  • Preparation of financial input for Executive project summary.

Qualifications

We expect that you have some years of experience within large-scale construction projects combined with a solid experience within financial analysis. Experience within the renewable energy/wind energy sector would be beneficial but not a requirement. With your solid communication and analytic skills, you will be working closely together with the project management team in providing the financial overview of the ongoing offshore projects. We expect that you are an experienced user of SAP and have solid experience working with MS Office applications. You are a team-oriented person who is also able to work individually with minimal supervision.

Competencies

We expect that you:

  • Hold a Bachelors' degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA preferred);
  • Have relevant experience within Finance business partnering (project cost controlling and execution, cost analysis, business performance management);
  • Have minimum of 5 years of financial analysis experience;
  • Have a solid knowledge of SAP and experience with interface SAP BI and SAP BPC experience would be beneficial;
  • Have professional communication skills and are fluent in English (written & oral) - fluency in more languages may be beneficial due to the regional nature of the role;
  • Are a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization;
  • Are able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Are proactive, self-driven, result-oriented with a high level of initiative and have a positive "can-do" attitude;
  • Are willing to travel occasionally within the Asia Pacific region.
