Due Diligence Senior Consultant
Lead Due Diligence Senior Consultant in Brighton, UK for global wind and solar projects. Manage project, reports, team, and clients. Engineering degree and renewable energy expertise required.
RINA is currently recruiting for a Due Diligence Senior Consultant to join its office in Brighton within the Green Energy Solutions Division.
Overview
The Senior Consultant will be delivering Due Diligence and Independent Engineer services on wind and solar projects worldwide.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Project management, ensuring effective communication within the internal team, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Project delivery, including communication within internal team, setting goals and workloads for other project participants (within the team or subcontractors) and removing barriers for team to operate efficiently.
- Delivering technical due diligence on large scale solar PV projects for Investors Lenders, IPPs and Developers.
- Managing Independent Engineering solar, wind and storage Due Diligence.
- Monitoring and reporting on PV projects through the construction and operational phases.
- Providing technical engineering support on PV projects at all stages of the project development cycle.
Report Writing & Reviews
- Reviewing of resource, technologies, structural studies, electrical design, contractual documentation, environmental studies, planning permission, health and safety reports, grid offers and grid connection agreements.
- EPC/TSA/BoP tender design, co-ordination, management, evaluation and review.
- Preparation and review of technical and non-technical reports.
- Project risk management, including construction, operational, and financial risk.
Leadership & Development
- Developing and mentoring graduates and Consultants.
- Taking managerial responsibilities such as ensuring appropriate resources are available to deliver pipeline of work.
- People and project management, ensuring effective communication within the project team.
- Mentoring, training and helping junior staff to develop capabilities. Liaising with line manager on quality of work being delivered within the team.
- Providing oversight and Quality Assurance of reporting produced by other members of the team.
- Contract preparation & negotiation.
Client & Customer Management
- Leading business development activities i.e. development of new solutions, proposal writing and client presentations.
- Supporting business development and professional excellence activities, including expanding our database of best-practise commercial and technical documentation.
Experience Required
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor Engineering degree (or relevant technical degree).
- Strong practical knowledge, both technical and commercial, of how renewable energy assets are developed, constructed, operated and financed.
- Excellent commercial skills for a client-facing role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of at least one technology from onshore wind and solar PV.
- Comfortable working delivering bespoke and unfamiliar scopes of work for international clients.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with project teams based across different offices.
- Knowledge of onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage.
- Comfortable working delivering bespoke and unfamiliar scopes of work for international clients.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment with project teams based across different offices.
- Fluency in English with excellent report writing skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant experience working in the sector for a technical consultancy, project developer or contractor. Consultancy experience working on Independent Engineering and/or due diligence assignments preferred.
- Project management experience and capability to lead a project team.
