RPS is looking for Ecologists to join our team, part of the wider UK Environment & Infrastructure Division. We deliver master planning inputs, ecological appraisals, ornithological surveys and studies, other protected species surveys, mitigation design and construction and post-construction supervision and monitoring. RPS is a leading global multi-disciplinary consultancy and we specialise in all areas of the built and natural environment, shaping the future of our environmental, social and economic landscapes.

What you’ll be doing

You will have the opportunity to benefit from an exciting and diverse workload, delivering high quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK including exciting infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

You’ll be planning and undertaking habitat surveys, supervising field staff and survey effort to identify indicator plant species and habitat types.

Write and deliver EcIA, ES chapter, inputting into HRA reports, providing some ecological inputs into supporting examination in public and/or the appeals process under supervision and inputting into design teams on green Infrastructure,

BNG and strategic ecological inputs to the masterplanning process.

There will be travel involved so you will need to have a full UK driving licence.

Who we’re looking for

Full membership of CIEEM and have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.

EPS licensed consultant (GCN)

You’ll have experience of writing and delivering Breadth of ECoW on a range of projects and understand the process of preparing and implementing EPS and other licence applications.

You’ll be an experienced EPS licensed consultant (Class 1 or preferably 2 bat or other species) and have full knowledge of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation and best practice survey techniques

Good time and project management skills are a must as are sound influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.
