Group Tax Manager

In line with Octopus’ expansion within the UK and across the world, we are looking to grow our tax team to better support the group. The current tax team is a team of four, Head of Tax, Group Tax Senior Manager, Funds Tax Manager and Assistant Tax Manager. The Group Tax Manager will report directly into the Group Tax Senior Manager.

The Group Tax Manager will work closely with key stakeholders across the business functions. You'll have a core focus on the management of corporate tax compliance but you can also expect to be involved with various projects.

The role is a great opportunity for a qualified individual with a couple of years post qualified experience, looking to move into industry or make a second move within industry. This is a newly created role driven by the growth of the group. Therefore, there is a huge opportunity for the role to be shaped to suit your experience and career aspirations.

What you'll do

• Manage the outsourced preparation of the corporate tax computations and tax provisions for the UK entities
• Build tax calculations for input into forecast models, and for the purpose of quarterly instalment payments
• Support with the implementation of Pillar 2, including coordination with our overseas territories
• Support with other group tax compliance projects across corporate tax, VAT and payroll taxes
• Work with our advisers on our transfer pricing obligations, including master file documentation and CbCR
• Assistance with tax governance processes
• Get involved with other advisory, M&A and international tax projects across the group

What you'll need

• A professional qualification in tax or accountancy, with demonstrable experience PQE
• Strong corporate tax background, including knowledge of tax accounting
• Whilst this is a mixed tax role, it isn’t necessary that you have experience of all taxes
• An eagerness to build tax knowledge and get involved in a variety of tax work
• Self motivated and able to work independently, but also enjoys being part of a wider team
• Able to work to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
