From individual utility customers and construction contractors, to utilities, municipalities, and government bodies, our clients have come to depend on our customized energy efficiency programs to help them to meet their energy saving goals.

The Regional Safety Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing specific safety aspects of the regional programs, including OSHA compliance, contract compliance, training, auditing, and general subject matter expertise. The position will work closely with the Safety and Risk Manager to develop, implement, and modify safety requirements to ensure overall business needs and OSHA compliance are met. You will also be working with others who are passionate about energy efficiency and making a positive impact on the industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Responsible for overseeing, engaging and driving safety throughout the region
  • Oversee the coordination and completion of all regulatory and compliance programs and documents for OHSA, including:
    • Emergency Action Plans
    • SDS files for company and vendors
    • Oversee safety equipment, supplies, and inspections
  • Ensure all OSHA required trainings and reporting are accomplished
  • Participate in policy development and revisions as it relates to safety
  • Conduct ride-along visits with field staff to ensure best safety practices are being followed.
    • Visits to be documented. Violations to be addressed with management.
  • Meet or exceed all assigned safety goals.
  • Work with Safety and Risk Manager to report and manage all accidents/injuries/near misses ensuring:
    • Proper procedures and paperwork is completed by managers and employees
    • All accidents/injuries are reviewed and follow up action taken
    • Insurance carriers are notified and loss is actively managed
    • OSHA log and worker’s compensation tracking are accurately maintained
  • Prepares various safety reports for metric tracking. Provides analysis and insights to Safety and Risk Manager on safety and fleet performance within the region
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships and good customer service with:
    • Internal Management – providing solutions to meet contract needs
    • Employees – providing day to day safety and fleet support
    • External – supporting a strong working relationship with insurance, fleet and other safety related vendors
  • Work with Safety and Risk Manager to ensure legal compliance with State and Federal regulations applicable
  • Work in partnership with Training and HR to ensure the appropriate level of connection between organizational, safety and HR initiatives

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Emphasis in Safety preferred.
  • 2-5 years related safety experience
  • Safety Manager Certification preferred
  • OSHA 30 - General Industry certification preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of legal and compliance regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Safety Manager Certification preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight travel

Estimated Wage Range: Available Upon Request
