Job content, responsibilities, and possibilities

Based in our office in Boston you will be supporting the operations preparations on a client’s offshore wind farm. Here you will be working with a small and highly qualified Ops Prep team, and together you will ensure that all relevant O&M activities are planned and prepared so that the O&M organisation can be fully capable of operating the offshore wind farm asset once construction of the asset has completed.

More specifically, your areas of responsibility will be;

  • Execute the O&M Programme for the package and ensure an efficient transfer from construction to operations
  • Management of O&M interfaces and requirements with EPC packages (WTG, BoP, SCADA), including design review, serviceability, and safety perspective, with support from O&M Engineers and HSE Manager
  • Facilitate EPC hand-over process towards the asset operator
  • Managing local stakeholders and driving O&M supply chain development activities
  • Develop and optimize O&M Strategy to fit project-specific constrains and opportunities
  • Development of logistical solutions for offshore projects
  • Responsible for budgeting OPEX, wind farm availability estimation & O&M related CAPEX & DEVEX estimation. All O&M related business case input needed for key project owner decision milestones
  • Development of project operator model and O&M procurement quilt
  • Wind turbine and balance of plant service contract tenders, negotiations, and readiness

What you bring and your qualities

We are looking for an Operations Preparations Project Manager who has a technical or operational engineering university degree and experience in both fields, combined with a flair for commercial topics. A commercial education with a strong technical interest or a background in management consulting would also be relevant. Ideally, you have 5 years of work experience, working with onshore or offshore wind projects, from which you have gained broad experience and a wide skill set (technical, operational, commercial, project management). Preferably this experience comes from project development, operations, or asset management.

The perfect candidate has the relevant experience combined with a proactive attitude, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and works well under pressure. You must communicate well and be able to build relations with various projects internally, as well as with your project's external stakeholders. You will be part of a motivated team with colleagues from different disciplines and parts of the world, ensuring high-quality deliverables for our international clients.
