R&D Device Physics Intern (Fall 2024)

Expected Length of Internship

• 4 months, Fall 2024
• As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position.

Education/Experience

• Master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, material science, solid-state physics, astronomy, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or related field
• Must currently be enrolled in a PhD program fulfilling a graduation requirement for the degree.
• First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.

Required Skills/Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to develop functional codes in at least one of the following object-oriented programing languages: MATLAB, C++, C#.
• Clear and concise communication skills, verbal and written.

Basic Internship Scope (Project)

• Participate in development of new and troubleshooting of existing simulation tools and perform device and process simulations against experimentally observed phenomena.
• Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Estimated Salary Range

• $17.00 - $27.27/Hour
