Senior High Voltage Site Engineer, Renewables
Lead high voltage projects in Aalborg, Denmark. Supervise teams, manage budgets, and ensure project success. Technical background and HV installation experience required. Join Semco Maritime for impactful work in renewable energy.
If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale, innovative renewable energy projects and make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Your position
As our new Senior High Voltage Site Engineer in the Renewables Division, you will be a crucial part of our Site Operations Team, comprised of highly skilled and experienced power engineers. With one of the largest project portfolios in offshore substations worldwide, we are proud to be market leaders in our industry.
In this role, you will supervise teams of 5-15 members in the installation, testing, and commissioning of high voltage projects while also getting hands-on with the construction of high voltage components. You will act as the vital link between our HQ engineering team and onshore construction sites and have the exciting opportunity to develop your project management skills in an international environment.
The position is full time, and you can expect a 5 days’ work week at site – our construction sites are currently based in Aalborg, and you will be compensated with a fixed supplement for expected overtime. Moreover, this position requires a lot of traveling to sites, so you should expect around 150-200 travel days for work annually.
“As a member of our team, you'll be working alongside a close-knit group of dedicated people who are at the forefront of the green energy transition. You'll have the exciting opportunity to work with large-scale, specialized engineered platforms, and our focus on quality and safety is unmatched” - says Peter Carlsen, Director, Site Operations
Your tasks & responsibilities
You will be responsible for leading the high voltage scope of the projects, overseeing time and budget management, and acting as a liaison between stakeholders to ensure the project's successful completion.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Working on onshore/offshore sites and carrying out HV installation and test schemes
- Supervising installation teams
- Develop team and coach colleagues.
- Interacting with the engineering department in providing support, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues onsite
- Planning of day-to-day tasks
- Driving that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Responsible for communicating with subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders across the project organisation
Your profile & qualifications
As a person, you enjoy taking responsibility and interacting with stakeholders, while your organized and proactive approach helps you manage multiple tasks at the same time efficiently. You lead by example and foster a collaborative environment where everyone feels supported to do their best work.
Whether you come from a background as an electrician or engineer, what matters most is that you possess a safety-first mindset and share our passion for sustainable solutions.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- A technical educational background, for instance as a Marine Engineer, Service Engineer, Technical Manager Offshore or Electrical/electronic engineer
- Experience with HV installations, such as transformers and shunt reactors
- Previous experience with contractual management of larger projects and costumer contact.
- Preferably hands-on experience as an electrician or similar
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English, verbal and written.
