Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.

YOUR PROFILE

You are an experienced professional in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, contract management, or similar fields. You have extensive experience in executing large-scale complex contracts within a large industrial company. You must demonstrate strong project management skills and a proven ability to build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. You have experience in the energy sector and knowledge of trends in the wind, solar, and energy storage sectors. You enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and would like to work for a pioneering Canadian company with strong human values in the field of renewable energy.

YOUR CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Procurement Manager (Wind), you will organize and lead Boralex's procurement of key equipment and services for Boralex's wind projects.In close collaboration with various groups within Boralex, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead market intelligence to identify and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the major equipment and services market, including suppliers' capabilities, market positioning, and strategies.
  • Work with the development and project management team on the preparation and optimization of project schedules and budgets.
  • Lead the preparation of RFIs and RFPs in accordance with Boralex standards, organize and manage the commercial evaluation of supplier proposals with a multidisciplinary team composed of engineering, development, project management, finance, and other teams.
  • Negotiate the commercial terms of major equipment and service purchase agreements for the execution of solar projects.
  • Organize a multidisciplinary team for contract negotiations with suppliers and obtain approvals from various administrative bodies for contract signing.
  • Work in a multi-project environment.
  • Organize contract execution control, equipment and service procurement, support suppliers in organizing logistics and storage.
  • Lead the resolution of potential issues and disagreements with suppliers during project execution.
  • Lead work with suppliers to support Boralex's CSR strategy.
  • Support the procurement manager (wind) in market analysis and identification of potential opportunities and competitive advantages for Boralex.
  • Ensure supplier prequalification and technical and commercial evaluation.
  • Other tasks related to the responsibilities of the procurement team.

Note: This position includes occasional travel in North America and abroad.

YOUR SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in administration, engineering, or equivalent.
  • At least 8 years of experience in an industrial company, preferably in the energy sector, including at least 6 years in procurement and project management.
  • Experience in leading contract negotiations and managing contracts worth over 10 million in the renewable energy industry.
  • Experience in executing major projects.
  • Proven leadership experience in implementing cross-functional projects.
  • Experience working in or with international companies.
  • Experience in the full project lifecycle - EPC/BOP development - commissioning - operation and maintenance.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in this field.
  • High-level negotiation skills.
  • Risk management and mitigation planning.
  • Experience in the wind industry.
  • Excellent bilingualism; French is the working language in Quebec;
  • Knowledge of English is required to analyze, negotiate, and manage contracts and communications with international partners and suppliers.
