Our tech

The Deftpower platform is built in C#/.NET. We are heavily using Azure Functions to keep our platform as scalable as possible. We adopt a microservice architecture where services communicate with each other mainly via the Azure Service Bus. Data storage is done in a variety of ways, but Cosmos and Azure SQL databases are used most. Monitoring and logging is done with Application Insights and Grafana as well as PowerBI dashboards. The portal that interacts with the backend is written in Angular, while our mobile applications are developed in React Native. In general, we use Azure's PaaS components wherever possible to stay up to date and ready for scale.

About the job

You'll be our very first Database Engineer, the person who makes sure our data stays fast, clean and reliable while everything around it grows like crazy. Our platform is handling millions of transactions every day. As we scale, you'll be the one keeping our Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL databases secure.

You make sure data never slows us down. You'll monitor performance, automate what can be automated and keep our systems safe and steady. When a query drags or a dashboard lags, you already know where to look.

• Design and maintain scalable Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL databases that run 24/7 without drama
• Build smart backup and recovery setups
• Keep data secure and compliant, working closely with our Security Officer Timo
• Collaborate with developers in Platform, Roaming, Transaction and Smart Charging to keep data flowing smoothly between teams

You'll do great here if you:

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL (cloud or on-prem)
• Know Azure PaaS inside out: tuning, scaling, automating, securing
• You like collaborating with developers and helping teams use data smarter
• You have a valid work visa for the Netherlands and can join us in Arnhem a few times a week

Depentent on the role we do a quick introduction by phone to see if there's a match on the basics. After that you'll meet the Hiring Manager or Team Lead. We'll tell you more about Deftpower, and we'd love to get to know you as a person. For some roles you'll work on a short case. Next, you will talk to a teammate so that you can get a good feel for the role and the Deftpower. For IT roles, this is when you receive the offer. For sales and operations roles there's often a third interview to give you an even broader picture of Deftpower.
