Success in this role will be measured by the ability to effectively support data center projects through key development and commercial milestones to ultimately achieve commercial operation. Moderate travel (~20%) is required. Role is fully remote.

  • Support execution of strategies to drive Longroad's presence and opportunities in the growing data center market.
  • Monitor regulatory, policy and commercial trends impacting data center load demand across multiple markets.
  • Track utility tariffs, rate structures, and load interconnection processes while working with utilities on co-location projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, consultants, and experts across origination, legal, interconnection, permitting, construction, government affairs, engineering, and finance.
  • Represent Longroad at industry conferences, meetings, and site visits.

Data Center Development Support

  • Support advancement of data center development activities for projects in the Longroad pipeline of existing energy and datacenter projects as well as acquisition opportunities.
  • Manage large load application processes for projects across multiple US markets
  • Assist with site-level evaluation and diligence, including zoning, land use, environmental constraints, access, utilities, and infrastructure readiness
  • Support land-related and due diligence activities, including reviewing purchase agreements, options, leases, easements, title, and survey in coordination with legal and real estate teams
  • Partner with internal teams (energy development, power markets, engineering, interconnection, legal, finance, government affairs) to align development activities with transaction timelines and investment objectives

Market & Portfolio Support

  • Contribute to development of internal knowledge, templates, and best practices related to data center site development
  • Support senior team members with market research related to data center development trends, siting requirements, and infrastructure considerations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (real estate, engineering, planning, business, or related field preferred).
  • Working knowledge of the data center market, including client needs, site selection factors, energy procurement strategies, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting development activities such as site diligence, permitting, land use, or infrastructure coordination.
  • Experience working with cross-functional internal teams and external consultants.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
