Job Description
Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is seeking an experienced Partnerships Manager to contribute to our efforts in shaping the future of wind and renewable energy workforce development. If you're passionate about forging strategic alliances, fostering innovation, and building a skilled workforce for the future, then this is the opportunity for you.
Standards help our industry work more efficiently and effectively. More than 210.000 technicians working within the wind industry receive GWO certified training, and we are on a path to expand this workforce significantly, and on describing a broader set of standards they will be able to access at more than 500 third party certified training providers throughout the world. Our strategic focus on workforce development aims to increase the pool of GWO trained entry-level technicians and secure a workforce fit for the industry's long-term growth in construction, installation, operations, and maintenance.
How will you contribute?
As a Partnerships Manager, you will drive the identification, development, and management of partnerships aligned with the GWO's strategic objectives, primarily workforce development. Your focus will be on developing partnerships with international and national organisations, renewable energy industry associations, public education institutions, training and reskilling authorities etc. You are expected to seek to establish initiatives that increase long-term supply of skilled and trained workforce for GWO's members and other employers of workforce in scope for GWO training.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritise, and develop strategic partnership opportunities aligned with GWO's long-term objectives, including feasibility assessment and impact analysis
- Develop value propositions and provide robust financial and market analytics to support and actively contribute to partnership negotiations, including the definition of commercial terms, conditions, and financial arrangements
- Manage and contribute to the end-to-end partnership lifecycle, from opportunity identification through to implementation and ongoing relationship management
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of partnership initiatives with organisational strategy and execution of agreed outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners and industry stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned partnerships
- Define, monitor, and evaluate partnership KPIs, assessing performance and recommending improvements to enhance effectiveness
- Represent GWO externally at senior level when required, engaging with international organisations, national bodies, industry associations, and educational institutions
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of partnership frameworks, tools, and methodologies that support effective execution and management of partnerships

- Proven experience in strategic partnerships, business development, and external relations
- Wind/renewable energy experience is required and a strong background in international standards is desirable
- Strong understanding of market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes
- Strong knowledge of public sector dynamics and decision-making in a political context
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- Fluent in English (verbally and written)
- Expert user of Microsoft Office
