Job Description

BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited offers comprehensive operations and maintenance services to solar energy plants and wind plants across the UK and Ireland. We utilise our international experience as well as the expert knowledge of our local teams to deliver centralised, state-of-the-art data management and monitoring. Our commitment is to deliver our services by setting industry standards and constantly innovating to improve the value we add for our customers. With our main office based in Milton Keynes, and with other locations in Edinburgh.

About the role

As Lead Asset Manager, you lead a team of Asset Managers and will take overall ownership for a portfolio of solar pv assets, ensuring successful delivery of the BayWa r.e. contracted scope of services.

This role will be based in Milton Keynes, but the successful role holder will be required to travel on occasion to site and meet team members.

What You Will Do

  • You will be responsible for taking overall ownership for a portfolio of solar assets, ensuring successful delivery of the BayWa r.e. contracted scope of services
  • You will have customer relations responsibilities - you will be the primary contact for site owners, managing all customer queries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and to the highest standards.
  • You will have contract management responsibilities - you will have management of all contracts and agreements associated with the sites, ensuring that all requirements and obligations are met and managing all breaches on behalf of the owners.
  • You will have operations management responsibilities - you will be required to manage internal and external resources to plan works with production maximisation as the goal, helping to define and manage the annual OPEX budgets.
  • You will have technical analysis responsibilities - you will be required to perform detailed technical analysis to determine factors and trends that impact production and asset life.
  • You will have contractor management responsibilities - you will be required to measure contractor performance, ensuring all obligations are met, defining and measuring KPI's to ensure value to the customer.
  • You will have information management responsibilities - you will be required to ensure all historical data and documentation is complete and available to the customer.
  • You will have reporting responsibilities - you will be required to create detailed customer reports on site performance and contractual compliance and give recommendations to customers

What you'll need to succeed

  • Education - degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management or other relevant discipline; consideration will be given to those without but with significant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience - previous experience with managing the technical operations of solar assets or similar technologies.
  • Industry Knowledge - understanding of solar technology, solar farm operations, SCADA systems and UK HSE legislation.
  • Contract Management - Proven track record with managing contracts; able to read, understand and enforce contracts effectively.
  • Analysis - attention to detail, able to manipulate and assess data to see patterns and trends.
  • Communication - customer orientated with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate at all levels, both written and verbally.
  • Personality - Naturally well prepared and organised able to deal with competing priorities, manage a diverse workload and meet targets and deadlines.
  • IT Skills - highly proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office packages with excellent excel skills.
  • Drivers Licence - due to the nature of the role there is a requirement for a valid licence.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
