India Water Foundation, established in 2008 as a non-profit civil society & think tank, is engaged in enhancing public awareness about Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and major components of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, in Asia-Pacific region in general and India in particular. It also emphasizes on familiarizing the people regarding the vital role water, energy and environment play in human lives, their impact on health, economic growth, livelihoods of the people and calamities that wreak havoc due to non-judicious harnessing of these natural resources. IWF works towards localizing and implementing SDG's, affirms towards environment conservation and fosters enhancing community resilience through 'Putting People First' approach so they lead a more secure, prosperous, and dignified life. Candidate with a deep focus on funding organizations and understanding the evolving tech-policy ecosystem, managing press relations and social media handling. The role is hands-on, and will manage proactive and reactive communications, from strategy to messaging to execution.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Organization in implementing development plans, manage print and electronic media and social media handling
  • Keep track of all funding opportunities from the government, private and bilateral and multilateral agencies

  • Consult with and update the Head on the follow ups for different funders.

Essential Skills

Junior Researcher - 1 Post

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and quantification of policies related to development and climate change including impact assessment of aforesaid policies
  • Socio-economic analysis of resource consumption pattern in India including distributional impact of policies as well as their impact on socio-economic indicators like inequality, poverty, unemployment, etc.
  • Development of alternative energy-economy-environment pathways while balancing development aspirations with climate change obligations
  • Interacting with clients, and other stakeholders at the national and sub-national levels
  • Coordinating project activities
  • Drafting reports, articles, blogs, journal articles, and presentation of results to a wider audience including stakeholders, policymakers and academicians
  • Organizing internal and external meetings, stakeholder dialogues, workshops and other dissemination events

Essential Skills

  • Strong academic record with masters (or above) in Environmental Economics/ Environmental Engineering/ Social Sciences or any other relevant field
  • Proficiency in quantitative and statistical analysis inclination towards conducting both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Ability to handle, analyze and synthesize large datasets
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and delivering quality output
  • Demonstrated ability of working independently as well as in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team with limited supervision

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Handling incoming and outgoing documents, maintaining proper storage, retrieval, and distribution.
  • Assisting other office staff by performing general clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and sending emails

Junior Accountant - 1 Post

India Water Foundation is interested in hiring a Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a head for numbers, experience with MS Excel, and strong analytical skills. The Junior Accountant will report directly to the Director and our Accounting Supervisor, and will need to demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced office environment. We offer opportunities for advancement for the right candidate, and a competitive salary based on experience.

Junior Accountant Qualifications And Skills:

  • B.Com or M.Com
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel & Word) is a must and experience in using Tally 9 is highly preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and ability to deal with clients and external contacts.
  • Proactive and well organized.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • 2+ years' related experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience working with general ledgers
  • Basic knowledge of Zoho Books or similar accounting software
  • Skills Needed: Finalization, TDS, GST, Tally, Taxation, Audit, Book Keeping

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Using Tally Software for Accounting and Bookkeeping Tasks.
  • Reconcile Accounts and Ensure Accuracy in Financial Statements.
  • Reconciliation in Matching and Resolving Discrepancies in Bank Statements.
  • Coordinate with Chartered Accountant (CA) to ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Generate financial reports as needed
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting
