  • Write reports, literature reviews, fact sheets, policy positions, newsletters, and meeting summaries to support project work
  • Design and lead stakeholder workshops, client meetings, and presentations to meet project objectives
  • Hire and supervise a project manager to support successful completion of Gridworks initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the Gridworks team (executive director, fellows, other directors, project managers); provide feedback and guidance to fellows and project managers working on Interior West projects
  • Seek project leads and funding opportunities to further Gridworks’ mission in the Interior West; produce project proposals and concept notes responding to leads
  • Develop a network of contacts in the Interior West (subject-matter experts, stakeholders, thought-leaders, and policymakers)
  • Work independently to manage time, project load, and client development; apprise the Executive Director as needed
  • Support the development of Gridworks' best practices on a wide range of issues, including: facilitation, project management, hiring, HR, external communications, etc.
  • Track and manage project budgets
  • Occasional travel to in-person meetings and quarterly staff retreats
  • Report to Gridworks’ Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Eight years of professional experience, including at least four years working in some aspect of the energy or environmental industry
  • Knowledge of Western state regulatory affairs and energy policy landscape
  • Facilitation, presentation, and/or meeting leadership experience
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and proficiency in project management best practices
  • Experience working with subject-matter experts and the ability to synthesize and communicate complex, technical matters
  • A commitment to uphold Gridworks' harassment policies
  • Professional or lived experience in AZ, ID, MT, NV, UT, or WY
  • Gridworks is not able to support H-1 or work visa applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, etc.), and online meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and WebEx).

Benefits

  • Salary: $125,000 – $150,000, depending on experience level and location
  • Unlimited paid time off, and we encourage our employees to use it!
  • Reimbursement to cover dental, vision, and medical benefits
  • 403(b) plan (the non-profit equivalent to a 401(k)) with an employer matching contribution
