The ideal candidate is mission-driven, customer-service-oriented, and impact-focused.

What You'll Do

  • Steward corporate partner accounts through engaging partners in thought-leadership opportunities, organizing proactive touchpoints with partners, and tracking activities and communication in an organized manner.
  • Evaluate partner needs and engagement history on an ongoing basis to inform renewal strategy.
  • Negotiate and prepare renewal of partnership contracts.
  • Ensure data tracking and organization associated with the portfolio of partner accounts is completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure partners' connection with members.

Support partnership engagement delivery with a particular focus on Houston-led activities:

  • Support the partnerships team in engagement scoping and facilitating delivery.
  • Manage high-profile partnership-related executive tours, events, and discussions in Houston.
  • Support the Director of Partnerships in Houston to ensure that any and all partnership requests are both realistic and met in a timely and effective manner.
  • Support on developing and managing the new-partner pipeline.

  • Identify relevant themes for specific sectors and design the event program.
  • Strategically target relevant corporate partners and ecosystem friendlies for speaking and/or engagement opportunities.
  • Work with the Houston Community Experience team to garner startup participation and set expectations.
  • Work with the Houston Community Experience team on all day-of logistics as well as any external promotion.
  • Seek sponsorship opportunities with relevant, mission-aligned organizations.

Contribute to additional Partnerships team initiatives as needed, including but not limited to:

  • Assist with Partnerships team office hours.
  • Support the planning and execution of Climatetech Summit.
  • Attend and provide support for strategic events and conferences alongside team members.
  • Assist with the preparation of Partnerships-led communications, such as the Pilot Digest newsletter.

Who You Are

  • Passion for climate action, innovation, and supporting startups as they scale their climate solutions.
  • Strategic thinker who can see the big picture, connect dots across stakeholders, and design engagement opportunities that deliver value for partners and startups.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, with the ability to adapt quickly, make sound decisions with incomplete information, and bring clarity to evolving situations.
  • Flexible and adaptable, thriving in a dynamic environment where priorities shift and new opportunities emerge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with corporate executives, startup founders, and ecosystem partners.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion: you believe climate action must be inclusive to be effective, and are dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for all.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, able to take initiative, manage time effectively, and anticipate partner and organizational needs.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented: capable of managing complex logistics, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholders with precision and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience; experience in innovation or climate technology is a plus, but not necessary.
  • At least two years of experience with project and/or constituent management.
  • Ability to absorb information and learn and develop new relationships quickly.
  • Experience managing multiple competing projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstration of a drive for collaboration-both internally and externally.
  • Demonstration of customer service for diverse constituencies.
  • Comfort with virtual tools-web-conferencing platforms, CRMs (Salesforce), etc..
  • An interest in learning on the job, a can-do attitude, and openness to being pushed outside of your comfort zone.
