At Natural Power, we have been pioneers of positive renewable change for 30 years. If you're looking for a job in the renewable energy industry, we could be just the place to advance your career.

As demand for low-carbon heat solutions continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a Senior Renewable Heat Engineer to strengthen our specialist Renewable Heat team at our either our Glasgow, Stirling or Castle Douglas offices.

Our Renewable Heat team is a core group of specialists passionate about decarbonising heat. We work across technologies including biomass and solid fuel combustion, heat pumps, deep geothermal, anaerobic digestion, EfW CHP, and district heat networks and energy centres.

  • Undertake technical and commercial reviews of project outputs
  • Manage quality control systems and ensure high standards of delivery
  • Monitor and manage commercial performance to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met

Technical Consultancy Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of consultancy work across the full project lifecycle, including feasibility, planning, due diligence, financial close, construction, commissioning, operations and decommissioning
  • Deliver technical analysis, modelling and reporting for low-carbon heat and district energy projects
  • Manage client-facing contracts to ensure scope, programme, quality and budget requirements are achieved

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Degree in a relevant engineering or project management discipline
  • Chartered or near-chartered member of a relevant professional institution
  • Strong experience in renewable heat, district heating or waste-to-energy projects
  • In-depth knowledge of UK renewable heat policy, incentives and design standards
  • Proven experience leading consultancy projects and working directly with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Advanced IT skills, including modelling and analysis of complex energy systems

Desirable

  • CIBSE CP1 accreditation
  • Project management qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification or full chartership
  • Experience in district energy modelling, construction and contract management
  • Understanding of wider renewable technologies such as solar thermal, PV, wind and energy storage
  • Line management experience

What We Offer

We will offer an engaging, collaborative, and fast-paced environment alongside an excellent benefits package, including:

  • Generous annual leave allowance
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Health plans, personal insurances, discounts and salary sacrifice schemes
  • Opportunities for career development and progression
