Job Description

The Customer Operations Intern will report to the Manager, Performance and Subscription Management. The Customer Operations Team is responsible for Customer Management, Origination, Billing, and Utility coordination workflows, as well as maintaining a best-in-class experience for our tens of thousands of residential and commercial customers for Distributed Generation Solar projects in operation.

This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning in June 2026.

We are looking for first-year students in a graduate program in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.

Throughout this summer internship program, you'll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you'll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You'll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort.

This is a hybrid role that will be based in the San Diego or San Francisco Office. Our hybrid policy is that employees are in-office on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

What You'll Be Doing

The Customer Operations Intern's primary responsibilities will include:

• Perform sensitivity analysis on key performance metrics to identify trends, issues, or opportunities for improvement throughout customer lifecycle
• Collaborate with internal sales and digital product teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implementation of customer-related initiatives

The Customer Operations Intern will be assigned to an individual project and will present results to leadership at the end of the summer.

The Customer Ops Intern will be assigned to an individual project and will present results to the team and leadership at the end of the internship on August 4th.

What Would Be Nice

• Prior experience in Business Operations, Consulting, Finance, or Sales.
• Prior exposure to advance analytics reporting tools like Power BI.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

$24 - $28 USD
