The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is an award-winning, independent, global, non-profit research organization that provides data-driven research to advance policies that reduce the health and environmental impacts of the transportation sector. The ICCT offers a mission-driven and culturally diverse workplace where intelligence, flexibility, transparency, and good humor are highly valued. Join our team of more than 100 talented researchers and support staff with offices in Washington D.C., San Francisco, Berlin, Beijing, and São Paulo.
The ICCT is looking for an intern to join our office in Beijing, working to support the transition of the transport sector to zero-emission technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the nonprofit sector.
You will
- Contribute to research projects that analyze and communicate the status of environmental transportation policies adopted in China
- Support conducting statistical analysis under guidance from ICCT's research staff
- Support report translation and outreach material drafting works
- Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed
You have
- Be in the 3rd or 4h year of the undergraduate or 1st year of graduate study in automobile engineering, environmental sciences, or other related disciplines.
- Knowledge of automobile technology and experience of relevant projects is preferred
- Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with databases using statistical languages/softwares such as R, Python and Tableau, while proficiency of R language is a plus.
- Proficiency of English and Chinese.
- Ability to work 4 days per week (ideally at least 32 hr per week) with a duration of 6-12 months.
Our benefits
The internship contract will have a duration of 6 months, with potential extension to 12 months. You will work in our Beijing office and report to our China heavy duty vehicle program staff. ICCT will provide a laptop and other office equipment as needed. We are offering a salary of CNY 4,202 a month (30 hours a week), or an amount proportional to the workload allowed by your university.
