We are now looking for a Software Engineer who can help us to continuously improve Volue's ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission.

What you will be doing to make a difference

• Build and evolve dispoPower and dispoGas, cloud-native Java Spring Boot applications that handle mission-critical energy nomination and scheduling messages between energy companies and European TSOs
• Implement and maintain integrations with TSO systems using protocols such as AS4 (ENTSOG/BDEW) and ECP networks, ensuring reliable and compliant message exchange across Gas and Power markets
• Work across the full message lifecycle: time-series ingestion, validation, XML generation, protocol dispatch, acknowledgement handling, and real-time anomaly and discrepancy detection
• Contribute to platform modernization, Spring Boot upgrades, test automation, API layer development, and automated tenant onboarding
• Collaborate closely with domain experts and product owners to translate European energy market requirements into robust, maintainable software
• Optionally contribute to our React/TypeScript frontends, operational dashboards that give energy dispatchers real-time market visibility

What you need to succeed

• At least 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong Java skills with Spring Boot - this is the core of everything we build
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Comfortable working in a cloud environment, ideally Azure
• Ability to work independently and take ownership in a small, agile team
• Good English communication skills (at least B2 level)

Nice to have

• React/TypeScript experience, if you can contribute to the frontend as well, that's a real plus
• Familiarity with energy markets, scheduling protocols, or XML-based messaging standards (ENTSOG, BDEW, ECP)
