Job Description

An increasing number of countries and regions in the world have decided to become climate neutral by 2050 at the latest. This implies not only energy systems becoming fully clean within the next 25 years, but also the industrial sector reaching climate neutrality within just one generation. While this is creating tremendous opportunities for investments and clean development, for a successful transformation also associated effects on value chains, structural changes and other macroeconomic implications need to be considered.

To strengthen our Agora Industry team, we are looking for two Student Assistants with focus on our international work starting August 1st 2026.

Your responsibilities include

  • Support in developing reports and preparing presentations in English;
  • Data collection, visualisation and analysis;
  • Organisational support of the team in projects, at internal meetings and at events;
  • Following political debates on the industrial transition across the regions we cover;
  • Literature research and study evaluation around the topic of industrial transition at global and regional level.

We are looking for

  • A completed bachelor's degree and currently pursuing a master's degree, ideally in one of the following fields of study: industrial engineering, energy/process or environmental engineering, natural sciences, renewable energies, economics, political science, data science, international policy or other relevant fields of study (enrolled at least for the next 12 months);
  • Pronounced interest in analytical issues;
  • Interest in climate policy, the decarbonisation of industries, relevant macroeconomic effects and structural change;
  • Initial work experience (e.g. in the context of internships) is an advantage;
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and in a manner appropriate to the target group;
  • Confident handling of qualitative and quantitative data;
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Confident user knowledge of MS Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • Very good English language skills, other languages are an asset;
  • A high degree of initiative and motivation, very good communication and teamwork skills, and interest in working in inter- and transdisciplinary groups.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to work on a project that will shape the future as part of a driven, highly motivated, and professional team;
  • A diverse and international work environment with a collaborative atmosphere and flat communication and decision-making structures;
  • An attractive workplace in the heart of Berlin, featuring team events and other group activities with colleagues;
  • Opportunities for professional and personal development and support, including access to a mental well-being platform;
  • A choice from our benefits package (e.g., commuter pass ('job ticket'), shopping vouchers, Urban Sports);
  • An hourly wage of 14.75 EUR (for bachelor's students) or 15.75 EUR (for master's students);
  • Free coffee/tea as well as fruits and vegetables;
  • The option for hybrid work with good digital equipment;
  • A comprehensive onboarding programme;
  • 29 vacation days per year (5-day workweek) as well as time off on December 24 and 31;
  • An employment contract initially limited to one year (student assistant).
