Job Description

Are you passionate about renewable energy and eager to work at the forefront of the global energy transition? PEAK Wind is seeking a Data Engineer to support our Data & Intelligence team in building data pipelines for an ever-larger data flow from various wind farms and solar projects.

The position is located in Copenhagen.

You will become part of our D&I team, where we work within PEAK Wind's operations management service offering and manage full value chain data management for our clients. We support renewable energy assets worldwide through data management, reporting solutions, and analytics capabilities, helping deliver data-driven solutions that support our clients and renewable energy projects.

Our team consists of highly motivated professionals who bring diverse backgrounds and a strong commitment to excellence. We support one another, share knowledge, and celebrate both individual and collective achievements.

You will report to the Head of Data & Intelligence and work closely with Data Engineers, Asset Managers, and other stakeholders across the business, bringing your analytical expertise and visualisation skills to a collaborative and purpose-driven team environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

As a Performance Analyst, you will contribute to the success of our clients and renewable energy projects by transforming operational wind asset data into meaningful insights that support performance optimisation, operational decision-making, and asset value creation.

You will sit at the intersection of performance analytics and data visualisation, combining a strong understanding of wind asset performance with the ability to communicate complex findings through intuitive dashboards and reporting solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse operational data from onshore and offshore wind assets to identify performance trends, anomalies, and drivers of underperformance
  • Lead and manage analyses supporting performance optimisation, diagnostics, and performance reporting for Asset Management teams and clients
  • Collect, manage, and verify operational data to ensure accuracy, quality, and availability for performance evaluation
  • Design, develop, and maintain frontend dashboards and visualisations, primarily in Power BI, that present performance and underperformance insights in a clear and user-friendly manner
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and backend developers to ensure reliable data flows support analytical and reporting solutions
  • Translate complex operational datasets into intuitive visuals and dashboards that clearly communicate insights to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure usability, performance, and visual consistency across dashboards and reporting solutions
  • Provide input on frontend architecture, tooling, and technology choices related to visualisation and reporting platforms
  • Implement enhancements to dashboards and analyses based on user feedback and evolving business requirements
  • Maintain clear documentation of analyses, dashboards, and methodologies to support transparency and knowledge sharing
  • Stay informed on wind industry performance benchmarks, underperformance drivers, and analytical best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of PEAK Wind's data landscape

What Will Make You Successful in This Role

  • At PEAK Wind, we know success comes in many forms. What matters most is your mindset, curiosity, and drive to make an impact. The following qualities and experiences will help you succeed in this role:
    • A bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field
    • Experience analysing operational performance data within the wind industry or broader renewable energy sector
    • Understanding of key wind asset performance metrics such as availability, capacity factor, curtailment, and performance optimisation drivers
    • Strong experience with Power BI; experience with Tableau, Alteryx, or similar tools is an advantage
    • Experience with SQL and/or Python is considered an advantage
    • The ability to transform complex datasets into clear and impactful visualisations and reporting solutions
    • An interest in user experience and dashboard design that supports effective communication and decision-making
    • Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
    • An agile mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
    • A proactive, structured, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
    • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in an international, cross-functional team environment
    • Enjoy combining analytical thinking with visual storytelling
    • Comfortable investigating operational data to understand why an asset is underperforming
    • Able to present complex findings in a way that is clear, meaningful, and actionable for stakeholders
    • Structured and curious in your approach to problem-solving
    • Equally comfortable working with data analysis and data visualisation solutions
