Job Description

As Country Controller, you are the Key Business Partner for Finance and Business Controlling to the Country Manager, driving the numbers-based decision-making process regarding the onshore wind, solar and BESS projects pipeline and portfolio onwards. You will be responsible for all financial related controlling activities across the full project lifecycle - from acquisition, development, realization and construction to operations focusing on Poland. You will lead cost, revenue and CAPEX controlling across the country's cost centers and ensure financial transparency, accuracy, and alignment with our strategic goals.

You'll report directly to our Portfolio Management & Planning function and work closely with the Country Manager, serving as a key member of the Country leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Finance & Business Controlling Partner to the Country Manager
  • Own the financial management, monthly closing and management reporting for the Polish market. Conduct in-depth P&L and balance sheet analysis on a monthly basis, identifying and explaining deviations vs. budget and forecast and identify mitigations and improvements
  • Drive forecasting and annual budgeting in collaboration with Group Business Control.
  • Monitor and track key business drivers (KPIs), offering actionable insights to leadership.
  • Lead project controlling across the lifecycle from development to operations, coordinating monthly reports, maintaining project budgets, project progress, governance, CAPEX and cashflow and delivering analyses of financial performance (P&L and cash flow).
  • Support in M&A transaction processes,project planning and keep a close interface to project development to support shaping the pipeline of renewable energy projects.
  • Actively contribute to the improvement of controlling tools, financial IT systems, and methodologies across countries through collaboration with peers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven 5- 7 years' experience in controlling, FP&A or financial management - preferably in a project-driven or energy/infrastructure business environment
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with project and cost controlling, having worked and demonstrated success in cross functional teams.
  • A university degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.)
  • Strong analytical mindset and, detail-oriented way of working, paired with the proactivity to spot issues and improvements before being asked. Continuously improving the structure and processes for you and others.
  • A team-player mentality, where you genuinely enjoy collaboration and communication within your team, connecting your initiatives with others across the team to create more impact.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Polish and English is a must.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (ERP, BI tools, Excel etc.) Experience with IFS, our ERP system, and / or OneStream, our consolidation and planning tool, is considered valuable but not a must.
