Job Description

Sitting under the Chief Commercial Officer, the 10+ FTE Project and Asset Finance team sources all financing needed to build EE's project pipeline, forming a critical pillar of EE's commercial value proposition and delivering billions of euros of project and asset financing across dozens of transactions annually. We work closely with our colleagues throughout the company - from our M&A department, where we support farm-down opportunities, to the teams driving the development, engineering, procurement, and execution of our projects.

Your New Role

As Senior Transaction Manager, Project Finance, you will take the lead on complex, non-recourse financing transactions from mandate to financial close. You will act as the single point of contact for lenders, direct the deal team, and carry extensive decision-making autonomy over how each transaction is run. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who wants full ownership of transaction execution and direct exposure to Europe's leading renewable energy lenders.

Your Responsibilities

  • Drive all aspects of transaction execution, from initial mandate to financial close.
  • Produce transaction information materials and run market soundings with prospective lenders.
  • Draft term sheets and lead negotiations.
  • Oversee the hiring of advisors and manage the diligence process.
  • Review all financing documentation and act as principal negotiator with lenders and their counsel.
  • Provide guidance and quality assurance to junior colleagues on the financial model.
  • Ensure closing conditions are met and facilitate the first disbursement.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for lenders throughout the transaction.
  • Maintain and oversee the overall transaction timeline.
  • Ensure alignment with, and a clear handoff to, relevant internal stakeholders for post-closing.

Prerequisites to progress in the job

  • You have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in project finance within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors, including experience leading transactions from mandate to close.
  • You possess strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including direct experience acting as a lead negotiator with banks, funds, or other institutional lenders.
  • You possess experience with structuring non-recourse transactions according to cardinal bankability precepts (but also know when it is appropriate and necessary to deviate from these precepts).
  • You have an advanced understanding of financial modelling, credit analysis, and risk assessment, and are comfortable reviewing and quality-assuring the work of others.
  • You have a detailed and wholistic appreciation of the project document suite and are able to negotiate risk allocation, facing lenders, with respect to PPAs, EPC contracts, wind TSAs / SAAs, BESS LTSAs, etc.
  • You have experience with, and a strong understanding of both: i) renewable power markets and market dynamics, and ii) current conventions and market standards in project finance for renewables.

As a person, you are proactive, driven and results-oriented, with the confidence to take ownership of a transaction, and the agility to work within a dynamic, innovative, and evolving corporate culture. You are a strong negotiator with excellent communication skills, able to convey complex financial concepts to internal and external stakeholders alike. You have an eye for detail balanced with good judgement on when to escalate, and a genuine interest in the financial market and the renewable energy sector.

You are willing to travel commensurate with the transactions to meet with stakeholders across Europe.

With us you get

  • Close collaboration with senior colleagues and meaningful deal ownership from day one.
  • A culture of knowledge sharing and international collaboration across 21+ countries.
  • Flexible work policy and a diverse, inclusive work environment.
  • Opportunities for career advancement in a growing company and sector.
  • Six weeks of paid annual leave, a subsidised lunch scheme, employee discounts on glasses, furniture, and massage, free access to a gym, a mobile phone for both professional and personal use, and access to professional development opportunities, including on-the-job learning, internal and external training, and networking.
