AMPYR Energy (AMPYR) is AGP’s renewable energy platform. In Australia, AMPYR is focused on delivering a 6 GWh portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) by 2030, creating a scalable and repeatable platform that supports the energy transition.

AMPYR Australia is currently constructing its first major project, the Wellington 1 BESS (W1) in New South Wales, which will be among the country’s largest grid-scale storage assets. Alongside project development, AMPYR is pioneering an innovative First Nations equity partnership model, ensuring that Traditional Owners share directly in the long-term benefits of clean energy infrastructure.

Job Title: Investment Associate - AMPYR Australia

Job Type: Full Time

Primary Focus

Financial modelling, project finance support, investment analysis, and capital raising support.

Role Purpose

• Support shaping, evaluating and executing investments with a focus on:
  • Modelling for internally developed BESS projects
  • Project and corporate financing
  • Due diligence and IC materials
  • Investor and lender engagement support
  • Construction oversight and portfolio monitoring

Key Responsibilities

Investment & Transactions

• Build models for internally developed BESS projects
• Support project finance transactions and lender cases
• Model portfolio and platform transactions (equity, mezzanine, HoldCo)
• Draft IC and Board papers and other transaction deliverables
• Support due diligence and structuring

Capital Raising & Investor Engagement

• Prepare investor-facing materials (teasers, IMs, pitch decks)
• Support evaluation of offers and financing options
• Maintain relationships with banks and investors

Strategic Development

• Analyse M&A, partnerships, and alternatives
• Contribute to platform funding strategies
• Support implementation of stage-gate and investment frameworks

Portfolio & Construction

• Monitor performance, risks, and budgets across portfolio
• Provide investment oversight of construction-stage BESS assets
• Support senior team on strategic initiatives

Project Development

• Support due diligence of potential project acquisitions
• Support negotiation of Joint Development Agreements for new project acquisitions
• Assist in preparing responses to government off-take tenders
• Analyse offtake contracts and revenue mechanisms

Essential Attributes

• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, strong modeller
• Strong understanding of BESS and energy infra markets
• Self-starter, collaborative, long-term outlook

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Finance/Econ/Eng
• 3–6 yrs experience (IB, infra funds, project finance, corp fin, consulting)
• Proven modelling and transaction execution track record
• Exposure to BESS/infra
