Responsibilities

  • Install prototype hardware - including foundation work, structural assembly, mechanical components, and electrical hookup
  • Install field instrumentation - strain gauges, load cells, accelerometers, weather monitoring, and data acquisition systems
  • Execute daily test protocols and log results against acceptance criteria
  • Support weld inspection and quality verification in coordination with our manufacturing team in Woodland
  • Maintain field test equipment, prototype hardware, and on-site spare parts inventory
  • Document field observations, photograph anomalies, and feed structured findings back to the engineering team
  • Travel to project test sites

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years field technician experience in solar, wind, construction, or related outdoor industrial work
  • Mechanical aptitude - proficient with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and basic fabrication
  • Familiarity with structural and electrical installation practices
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to test sites
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work outdoors in hot and cold conditions, and climb ladders

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Prior solar, utility-scale PV, or large-scale outdoor hardware installation experience
  • Instrumentation experience - strain gauges, data acquisition systems, calibration
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification
