Job Description

A world free of fossil fuels. If you share our vision, then join us on our mission.

This is your opportunity to make a real difference in averting the climate crisis, in an organisation that is at the forefront of the global transition to renewable energy.

Mainstream Renewable Power is a recognised global leader in renewable energy; and the pride we all get from developing, constructing and operating our projects is one reason why we are officially recognised as a Great Place to Work.

Now we are looking for people who can power our progress to a new level. If you want to make a real difference in the world, working with our extraordinary team across six continents, check out the role advertised below.

Summary of Role

The Junior Energy Analyst role will be supporting Mainstream Projects globally with focus on the APAC markets. The position does not require previous experience in wind or solar analysis or software.

This is a regional role which involves close collaboration with APAC EAG staff, as well as Development, Procurement, Engineering, and Commercial colleagues in working on Mainstream’s projects in multiple APAC locations. The role also offers the opportunity to work on onshore and offshore wind projects, as well as solar and floating PV.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver continuous, timely, and tailored energy analysis services for assigned projects, adhering to global EAG standards. These can include: wind and solar resource assessment and measurement campaign design, project layout design, preconstruction energy production estimates, operational yield assessment, and internal power performance testing.
  • Collaborate, provide quality checking, and share knowledge with all EAG colleagues, embracing our global operating model.
  • Help drive continuous improvement in all EAG processes, procedures, tools, and data management systems. Implement assigned internal and external R&D activities related to evolving energy analysis technologies and methodologies. Ensure that Mainstream receives optimal service from assigned global suppliers of data, equipment, software, and services related to energy analysis.
  • Collaborate with Mainstream’s internal departments including HSSE, Development, Procurement, Commercial, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Legal, and Finance. Communicate site-specific energy production and site condition risks to project teams, ensuring the risks are fully understood by the business.
  • Proactively engage in on-the-job and formal learning and development, to prepare for a more responsible role.

The above tasks will be carried out following the Energy Analysis Group’s standards.

What We Require

  • Candidates with an honours degree in Engineering or Physical Science are encouraged to apply.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail and ability to exercise engineering judgement. Self-starter.
  • Excellent IT skills, including: programming with Python, experience with PANDAS, experience with SQL databases and analysing large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships with suppliers. Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical colleagues. Excellent verbal and written English.
  • Willingness to travel to remote areas as part of a team.
  • Full and clean driving licence.

Why you really should click that button ????

We offer you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation, in a growing market in a fast paced industry.

You will receive a very competitive total benefits package including a base salary and bonus scheme.

We also encourage personal and career development. Typically, industry-orientated training (inhouse and external) and conferencing are expected.

Career development

  • Training opportunities
  • Secondment and relocation opportunities

Shared financial success

  • A competitive, industry benchmarked and cost-of-living linked salary, reviewed annually
  • Annual bonus

Work/life balance

  • Hybrid working arrangement may be considered based on the role

Care for health & wellbeing

  • Generous health insurance coverage and allowance where applicable

These are just some of the reasons why we are officially certified as a Great Place to Work.
