We are looking for an experienced Manager for Factory Development/Production system to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Manufacturing Equipment Engineering team based in Stockholm and Gdansk. By joining us, you will be a key player for the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of:

  • manufacturing infrastructure design
  • the operational model in ramp-up and steady state production phases
  • strategic line and product allocation
  • industrial production system engineering inc.
  • material flow and storage for Northvolt Systems advanced factories and warehouses

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Responsible for managing engineers and vendors to design and deliver industrial process/material flow equipment achieving yield and rate targets against tight deadlines optimizing following factors:
    • Quality
    • Capacity / CAPEX
    • Cost of manufacturing
    • OEE
  • Responsible for planning factories and production line ramp-ups
  • Responsible to secure engineering team growth and competence development as well as long term employee development and employee satisfaction
  • Responsible to deliver new production and material flow systems
  • Responsible to both establish and secure compliance with standards and procedures
  • Responsible to secure and enable cross functional integration to relevant engineering teams to define interfaces for advanced real time monitoring, production control and optimization

Skills & Requirements

  • Fluent English with strong communication skills
  • Master degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
  • Prior experience in complex manufacturing involving multiple technologies and rapid growth
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience inc. Leadership experience within new equipment development and manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge in Manufacturing, Process engineering as well as in PLM, Data Management, MES and other IS/IT related tools
  • Expert in one or several defined process areas which includes deep knowledge in green field factory development, production system design, equipment installation and factory operations.
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving skills

Bonus points for

  • Experience in the following fields:
    • Automotive battery production
    • Automotive BIW or Paint Shop
    • Greenfield projects and ramp-up
  • Fluency in other languages (Polish, Swedish, German, Chinese)
