Join our dynamic team as a vital contributor in the role of supporting the Commercial Manager (Bids and Commercial) and the broader Engineering and Construction team. Job Description

  • Complete contract formation, including:
    • Drafting & finalising scopes of work documents;
    • Preparing tender documents, including returnable schedules;
    • Instructing the legal team on the type of contract required; and
    • Review and update contract terms and conditions with legal.
  • Preparation and ensure compliance with the Procurement Strategy and the Contract Administration Plan for each project;
  • Drive the procurement process and timelines from scope formation to contract execution alongside Project Managers;
  • Management of contracts, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place and obtained for all contracts and ensuring compliance for pre-construction contracts where required.
  • Provide contractual advice and assistance to project team members to assist them to undertake their duties;
  • Ensure contract deliverables are clearly identified and documented in all contracts
  • Liaise and manage relationships with the legal, business development, procurement and operations teams;
  • Leading the negotiation of contracts, while ensuring that appropriate approvals are obtained;
  • Undertaking contract administration activities where required.

Communication

  • Ensures that responsible members of project teams understand and comply with administration procedures
  • Maintains close liaison with Project Managers and technical teams to ensure all reporting requirements are being met and carried out in a timely manner
  • Liaises with project teams to keep informed of all relevant aspects of project reporting to assist in problem solving

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)

  • Promotes a positive safety and environmental culture
  • Makes themselves aware of all the HSEQ responsibilities as detailed Systems and Procedures Manuals
  • Ensures implementation of compliance with all relevant HSEQ policies, procedures and relevant legislative requirements

Required Skills and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A qualification in law, engineering or business
  • 5+ years experience in contract management for large construction projects
  • Relevant experience in commercial roles, particularly contract formation and contract management is required.
  • Ideally have renewable energy commercial exposure (wind, solar and/or battery storage)
  • Sound understanding of current market norms for typical renewable energy contracts (EPC, professional services, equipment supply contracts, turbine supply agreements, balance of plant, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual / legal issues and provide solutions through appropriate problem solving techniques
  • Highly developed commercial acumen accompanied by proven negotiation and inter-relationship skills evidenced by effective dispute resolutions
  • Be able to quickly grasp concepts and apply innovative options to the status quo
  • Clear and definitive communication – written and verbal accompanied by competent presentation skills
  • Demonstrated relevant leadership skills
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules
  • High attention to detail
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and advanced Excel skills
