The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to play a key role supporting our Matrix Renewables Finance Department. Ideally based in Miami and reporting to the USA Controller, the Senior Accountant will be supporting the finance and accounting operation in the US. You will support the U.S. division in its day-to-day activities including manage bank accounts both at the holding and project levels and interface with banks holding these accounts.

Key activities and responsibilities

  • Supervise all U.S. accounting monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax compliance
  • Manage invoices and payments, monthly payment runs, manage accounting and related consultants, provide support for financing
  • Support internal budgeting including reporting and invoice payments
  • Reconcile U.S. bank accounts and working on supporting new bank accounts
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and schedules for prepaid, accruals, depreciation and etc.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financials
  • Support actuals against budget for each SPV and US Consolidated financials
  • Support cashflow reporting for each SPV
  • Make payments on Airbase
  • Work with staff on recording invoices and matching POs
  • Support US Audits and Financial DD
  • Support tax compliance work and 1099s

General Skills / Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
  • Master’s degree in accounting preferred
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience in a similar role
  • Full understanding of MS Excel, MS Project, and other administrative/controlling tools
  • An ability to perform at a high level in a matrixed organization and work in interdepartmental teams to achieve objectives
